HI i got fs 2004 (had it for a long time though), and ever since i got the game, the game keeps freezing suddenly and displays a message that says something like, a problem has occured, if you were working on something the info may be lost, and then it asks if you want to send the problem to microsoft... and you have to click send or dont send....
This is beginning to get very annoying becuase if i go on a 30 min flight, the game will probably freeze by the time i get to cruising altitude...
Here is a bit about my computer....
-320mb Ram
-Pentium 4 CPU 2GHz
- windows XP
- (128mb Radeon) RX9250 video card

So does anyone know why i have this problem, and how to fix it?
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Nonononono. I ran FS2004 on 256 megabytes of RAM before with no problems. He probably has too many processes eating up the memory. Use SmartClose (you can Google it, I forgot URL).

Had the same problem, tried everything. Now it is starting to comeback again . I don't really know what fixed it, but the processes was one factor i believe.

airbus,

Do this would ya. The next time it freezes and you get that box, look for a highlighted in blue *Details*. This will give you the reason why it froze.

Look at it and let us know what it says.

Everybody yelling low memory is getting old and jumping the gun way too fast. There are 1,001 reasons why it freezes. Memory and Ram are #329 and #762, respectively.

I wouldn't worry about sending the error report. I have sent quite a few, even ones nobody has ever heard of. They will not get back to you, so don't waste your time with it.

Let us know what you get, and we can go from there.

Well put RD!!! Yes... there are a ton of reasons why MSFS 2004 can do that and memory is not the only reason. In fact MSFS 2004 is more of a CPU dependant software package than anything. Please post your processes and that will help us to help you better. That is what the forums are all about. Also I wrote an article on how to make an optimal computer for the simulator. Below is the link. I hope it helps.

Yes that 0XC0000005 error is a "Memory Corruption" error. It is more than likely that you are in fact running out of memory when playing the game. Most users find that 1 gig of memory is suitable for this simulator. If you are unsure of how to upgrade your memory, or if that is even possible to do on your computer, please contact your local computer store and they will be able to help you fix this problem. Memory may not be the only thing causing this as this is the error that you are getting. It might be caused by other things like graphic card drivers and or a combination of things. I hope this helps out somewhat and please, again, do not attempt to fix anything on your computer you are unsure about. Take it to a computer tech at a shop and have them both assist as well as advise you as to what your options are.

airbus,

Sandpiper could be 100% correct. But I also googled your *weather.dll* error, and found that it is updated with the 9.1 update.

Have you updated your FS9?? If not, then I would suggest in doing so.

This might also of interest to you. I know you said you had a lull in playing, so this might or might not help you. But, it is worth a look.

Let us know what happens, OK

Myhead,

Your choking your memory with your 1.8 processor. Everything works together. Your system is as strong as it's weakest link. Right now, not knowing your video card, it is your processor.

Think of it this way. I have a 350 cubic inch motor with 450 horsepower. With the right gearing, I am super quick. With yours, you have a 4.3 liter with 150 hp. Gearing won't help you go quicker. But you can pass a f--d. lol
