Hello...
For Ai use in large numbers, which is better?
~Default MS Aircraft
~Project AI
~AI Aardvark
Keep in mind my computer is ok but not the best.

Nemisis/Bill,
I would have to go with the AI Aardvark. If they come with sound and gauge packages, delete them. This will help free up the system and it's process's.
If I remember right, I think they have a lower poly count than the Project AI a/c.

Before I got Ultimate Traffic I used to use Ai Ardvark. It was the best for me also. The looks are nice also. Plus u can find some downloads to enhance AI Ardvark.

I like PAI. Very simple to deal with, about every livery you could dream of, new ones all the time, very accurate schedules, and the list would go on. I never cared for Ai Ardvark. Of course, everyone had reasons whey they like theirs. You can use both if you want. Insstall a livery from one, the same form the other, and see what you like best.
I personally, am insane, as I have every single PAI installed. Including all miliatary. I also have Ultimate Traffic 2005, My Traffic Military, My Traffic 2004, and Traffic 2004 installed. Yes, I am a glutton!!! I LOVE full airports and packed skies. I use AI Smooth with spaces out the traffic so I don't have tons of go arounds.
Also, check these guys out...may be just what you want:

The problem with PAI, is they are heavy for framerates when alot are used. This is the problem he is trying to avoid.
World AI is for flight routes only. He may be able to use them or have his own already. However, they do not have AI aircraft.

| FSDU, the solution would be to use PAI flightplans but exchange the PAI planes for the AI Aardvark ones. |

Agreed 100%
That would be a great package. You could also use Ttools and Yroute and make your own flight plans.

| Also... add EvolveAI to your list of good AI's! They have made the entire DC-10 series, and have started on the Airbus Narrowbodies! They have released the A321 already! Looks fantastic and has very little impact on frames (which is very good)! Check them out... |

It is now free. He released the latest version free of charge. Just do a google search for it.
It also comes free (special edition of it) in Traffic 2005.

As I had stated, I do NOT like AI Aardvark at all. Have no use for them at all. I have no problems with PAI with every one installed along with my other AI packages... I get 18-28 steady and 14-20 at insane airports (NY, LA, etc..)
I get such a kick, and I have mentioned this at least 20 - 30 times on this forum over the last couple years, the human eye can only register 24fps at the max. So why people think it is so great or that they MUST achieve 30-60fps is beyond me. YOU CAN'T SEE THEM! |

FSDU,
Dude, you need to take a chill. Nothing was said disrespecting the PAI aircraft. They are good paints. But with good paints comes a price of being a resource hog. They have higher polygon counts compared to the AI Aardvark. To a degree, it is and isn't about framerates, but how the whole system runs with ALOT of AI. Your hate for Aardvark is duly noted. but some/alot do like them. Depends on ones system and likes.
Maybe you should REREAD from the first post. He doesn't have a nuclear system, as you seem to have.
And by the way, what was your username before FSDU?? Right now you haven't been here for more than 3 months, and only have 6 posts.
Be very careful what you say and can prove. A quick way to lose the trust of others. Even if they are just reading and not posting.

Hey ardie, don't recall (just reread my posts) getting un chilled... I simply stated that I don't like the other models... And I know many others that feel the same way..
Anyways, My name is SpectroPro and I have stated that on the board.. I have been here way longer than a few months.. Just been hangin out watching things go on here.. Still amazes me how sensitive people on this forum can get over the stupidest things. I state I don't like something, you get all "Chill out!" on me..
I find it hard to believe people go on and on about how GREAT AIA is when while it isn't horrible, it is not all that some make it out to be. And as was stated by someone else, unless you run every PAI made, it is not that big of a framerate hit.
But I will concede, that AIA is friendlier on fps than some other ones. I personally like the ease of using the PAI aircraft. That's what really sold me.
Anyways, have a great day...and don't take things so seriously...its just a computer... |

Question has been asked and answered I believe. No point in going on about personal preference if it's going to be argued ad nauseum. Beautiful thing about this world is that we are all unique, both individually or as a group. Pick what you want, go with it and if you find others enjoying the same then great. If not, you can go solo and still enjoy whatever it is that you do. No one is right, and no one is wrong.
