Well, I have an EVga 7800gt and i find there are problems (different ones for each) with all the drivers I have tried. I know the latest are not always the best. The drivers that came with the card are evga drivers 8.1.8.5 ok but crashed and got blue screen "graphics driver error." Installed 8.1.9.8 no more crash but tons of artifacts, jiggly textures. Then went to 8.2.1.2 (Beta).
what a joke...can hardly read the screen text 1280x1024-32 75hertz.

Any suggestion. Anyone running a 7800gt? What drivers and setting are you using? Thanks.

Comment: I must say ATI does a way better job in the driver area than NVidia. Just my "new to nvidia" impression.

Have you adjusted your monitor settings? Adjust "video noise."

ATI and Nvidia are always competitive. Every 6 months, one of these brands beats the other. Nvidia is great for screaming graphics. ATI is good for gamers who are looking towards price.

I've heard the 77.xx series are good to go. I got a post about a few fixes and tweaks for the 7800...will post it up tomorrow.

Thanks Exx,

I have been trying different drivers and the best I have found so far is the Z-tweeked 8.2.1.2. Quite good actually. Please post the 77 drivers and will give them a go and see which are better. Do apppreciate your help. There are some 8.3.4.0 WHQL drivers posted at Guru but no installer. Beats me how to do it manually. Confused Confused I will give those a try too, if I can figure out how to install them.

Thanks d2mac60,

I was hoping you would chime in here. There is a different driver for the media centre? Are you using the media centre OS?
