Thats good. But does Nvidia make sound cards or sound related eqpt? That's news to me! Are u using an Nvidia sound card or something?
By the way, not trying to be argumentative or anything, but the term you wanted to use for this was "personalize" not "calibrate". Sorry, that is what confused me. Calibration is actually adjustment to equate to a standard reference, like calibrating a balance to make it read a standard 1 Kg weight as 1 Kg, and not 0.9 or 1.1 Kg. So you can actually calibrate your sound equipment with precalibrated microphones and such, but for an FS... |

good point
nvidia does not make sound cards (as far as i know), but they do seem to make sound utilities. the driver i downloaded seems to be fairly good, i could unlock a nice woofer feature on my headphones, now i have a new problem: every time i power up the jets, the house starts shaking |

Myth, I wonder if we are in the wrong forum, but what's your woofer? Or is it the woofer in your surround sound headset you are speaking about? How is the headset? Do they really give you the same effect as a set of 5.1 speakers? Never used one though I've seen a lot of ads, and I have always been suspicious. And hereabouts the dealers do not stock these items for a demo.
And most importantly what was the name of that utility again???
Sorry for such a barrage of questions! |

The first step would be to equalize the room where your sound system's located. You could use a software-based spectrum analyzer to set the EQ, but you'll get better results with a realtime analyzer that uses a reference microphone.
Using a pink noise generator, spectrum analyzer, and graphic EQ, you can flatten the sound in your room by adding signal to the frequencies that are being absorbed, and reducing those being reflected.
Once the EQ is tailored to your room, you can proceed with adjusting the sound to your own needs.
That's about the only audio calibration I could think of... here's a link for an inexpensive spectrum analyzer: http://www.markertek.com/SearchProduct.asp?item=ALT%2DRS24&off=0&sort=prod |
