Excuse me, new to FS2002 but, everytime i *beep*-up (normally on approach), the game will not allow me to just Restart the same flight.
Each flight is started the same ie; Airports, IFR, Flight Plan etc ...then
Save: which I do.
Fly Now works fine and off i *beep*, fine so far.
but, when I want to restart the same flight (with NO changes) after Exiting the flight, I am no longer allowed to fly IFR. Keeps giving me VFR instructions and I have to leave the game completely to reset it. I've even tried making a flight the "default" flight but still no good. Am I missing something or just plain st**id !!!!
also, is it possible to 'save' a flight at a certain point or do you have to redo the complete flight?
many thx,
Stu (the novice)
p.s. yes, I have tried searching this forum for the answer but have only managed to find the answers to all my other questions!!!!!!

In fS2002, at any point in your flight, hit the 'Alt' key. This will freeze the sim and your toolbar appears , top of screen. Select the 'Flights' tab and then 'Save Flight'. A box appears where you title your saved scenario and include a description if you like. Make sure you hit save and "Voila", next time you select 'My Saved Flights' from your initial selection screen, there's your flight, ready to rock and roll. A shutdown engine will be a shutdown engine on restart (sometimes you hear engine sounds for a second, then they're off.) Can't remember if flaps and throttle selections fire up the same way upon selecting a saved flight (I think so). Have fun experimenting!
P.S. I don't know about the ILS/VFR thing.
Edit; It can be helpful to hit 'Pause', then save the flight, that way you can start it at your leisure, not just when FS is finished loading it. |
