| do you think the title "HI" would do you any good? make the title more specific. also, this is the FS2004 SECTION!! you should have posted it in the hardware section or something like that!! NOT SO FAST! dont make a new topic of this in the hardware section, thats a waste. also, edit your post and change the title, and let the moderators move it for you. but DONT DO THAT AGAIN!!thats not good. learn this so your life will be easier in the forums |

| Those specs should be fine. What kind of CPU do you have? 2.20 doesn't tell me anything. |

I am assuming his *2.20* is his speed. Not very fast. However, there needs to alot more info than that. Such as bus speed, etc.
Your only as fast as the slowest part you have installed.

| Yeah, more info is required. You know the clock speed number varies between Intel and AMD CPUs. |

For what you want, adding the memory to 2 g, isn't going to help you any. As well as the G-card.
I would suggest building a new system from scratch, rather than trying to add patches to an obsolete system you have now.
Sorry if this offends you, just my honest opinion.

Ardie,
Do you really recommend an Intel Pentium 4 processor clocked at 3.0 ghz or higher? I have a Pentium 4 processor clocked at 1.6 ghz, XTASY ATi Radeon 9250 128MB, 768mb RAM.
I still get very nice framerates. I think you are setting the expectation way too high. |

On the overclocking to 3.0 or higher ?? I wouldn't own one. But, I also never said anything about overclocking. I wasn't saying anything close to that.
As for expectations, I don't set them. What you all (even me at times with my system) want from your system, isn't worth the expenditures when they will not help.
As for JOJO, and his system, his original post was about going up to 2 GB of RAM and getting a 6600 256mb card. With HIS system, I wouldn't waste the money to do it. He might get a 10-15 % improvement, but that is about it. Not cost effective in my eyes or wallet. His CPU (processor) I would think is too slow. I also don't know how much hard drive he has and wether or not it is partitioned. Plus his MB specs.
I (my opinion....still) is he would be better off building one or having one custom made for gaming and simming.
My recommendations were with honesty, and were not to be construed as offensive in any manner.
