I am seeing more and more questions about how to get higher FPS. As most of us know by now, the human eye likes to see at least 16 FPS. Whenever the rate goes below this level, there is a potential for fluttering (even though it is not always noticeable). Anything above 25 FPS is not going to make much difference. Most articles that I have read, recommend a Display setting of 1024 X 768 X 32. Yea, some of you'all have chosen to use higher settings (I often do myself just to see if it will make much difference). However, I personally do not think that I will spend several hundred dollars for a new Video Card just to improve my VFR by a fraction that does not match the additional expense.
Instead of running to your husband/wife or Mommy/Daddy for a new video card or a more powerful CPU, you may wish to consider making the best of what you aleady have.
I personally do not plan to spend any more money on my rig until I see what Microsoft has planned for the new Operating System or for Flight Simulator FSX.
Here are a few suggestions for how to improve you FSP without spending hundreds of dollars:
Fly in Fair Weather
Turn off or turn down the Cloud settings
Checkout software such as System Booster. I just upgraded today to version 2.0.
