You will need alot more than that, to do everything you want to do.
It will also balance out on how good a system you have and how much you want to spend.
It is novel that you would like to be a developer of all things. But, you should concentrate on one thing first. Being scenery, airports, aircraft etc. All will take a tremendous amount of time to learn and use correctly.
When you *beep* selection, you have a few choices. Get the free stuff to do what you want, and they will come out *ok* to *pretty nice*. For the stuff you want people to *oh my, this is incredible, just awesome*, then you will need to buy some programs to which will help you do that. Some things will overlap, so you will have to buy 1-3 programs to do that.
Don't get me wrong, I am not trying to discourage you, not in the least. But to open your eyes and mind about the reality of what it takes to do it right.

| Also, you can contact some of the authors for addons you like and get their input. Dont forget to check the forums for the big boys like Flight1 and Aerosoft, etc. |

I wouldn't suggest buying anything as you are starting out. Use Gmax for starters, check out modelling forums via our site here and Google. Gmax is free so far as I know and the hardcore modelling programs are quite pricey so stick with the former. Important thing is to read the manuals/tips/tricks at forums specializing in 3D design as much as possible. Lots of great people out there with tons of knowledge to share...

OH, don't despair,
your eyes and mind WILL BE OPENED, and scrambled.
If you want to do right, then follow the free advice. Find one area that most interests you. Then, find out what you need to make it happen. Get the free stuff if you can. Then learn and build from there. No matter what your interest is, patience, asking the right people, and so on, will get you where you want to go. Rome wasn't built in a day, neither was FS9. So, pick one, get confused, ask questions, beat it to death, and you will have a finished product. And that gray matter upstairs will be good again.
