This is the best water I have seen. Although very good, they are edited by me Very Happy . They are a combination of Vater.zip and morewatr.zip
but cannot upload it because I don't have permission from the authors yet.

i run perfwat.zip found here on surclaro. to me its ok, because the water has "waves"? all the time in it, and somewhat not static. a lake or river in real life will not always have waves........ but it is the WHOLE lake / river / ocean that "shines" then goes "dull" / shine - dull - etc etc etc so on and so on. yeah it looks nice, but not very realistic

Also capt.Propwash, when you are at high altitude, the "distance" water really does not contrast with the "loaded" water. So for me, it basically ruined the whole realism of water. The author did make a good attemt to increase realism, but there are major contrast issues here and there...
So I just go with my own (mixed) water! Very Happy

Same here. I don't need all my water views to oscillate with a period of three seconds.

That's why we have Overcast. Smile

I use the water that came with VOZ Austrailia scenery pack. It's nice and murky, but I don't mind. It actually looks real and not just "photoreal" and it gets rid of those annoying waves. I installed VOZ, replaced all the other textures with customs, and left the water. My simming experience is amazing now when coupled with FS2004 Sky World.

Depends on your system speed, memory, and graphics card. I have all of the Ut USA and Alaska, Birdseyes and Active Sky. I fly Alaska all the time and the water fits the occasion. The steel color of the cold Arctic and the white ice packs look great. Active Sky changes water color with weather.

Ocean changes color with the light. Sunset over the Bearing Sea is beautiful on the rare clear day especially with the Aurora dancing about..

If you are a serious Simmer like me. You buy the fastest computer, best graphics card, and at least 1.5 Gig of memory include two 200 Gig hard drives, that you can afford. And use the computer only for Flight Simming.. Other programs gum up the memory and speed....

I keep telling my wife that Flight Simmer is cheaper than buying a real plane and safer.

I forgot to turn on the deice and pitot heater on the Lear and when it hit 20000 ft it iced up and went down like a rock with the TAWS screeming "Terrain, Pull Up",, all the way down over lower Alaska.....

They do share it, it is freeware.

Just google it and you will find it. He doesn't have the authority/permission to upload it to SurClaro.

Some authors are very picky on where they do and don't send stuff for everybody to get free. AVSIM is the most popular site for downloads right now. But hard to find sometimes.

If you want the VOZ water texture addon, here is the link. I would also get the users manual also. And for very good reason.

http://www.vistaoz.org/downloads.html

Enjoy all.

RD

PS: C'mon people, sometimes it is not that hard to post up a link if you know what it is right away. Spend the 2 minutes to get the link and post it up. Especially if it is a popular/favorite addon. I got it Barihawk, and now so does everybody else. Evil or Very Mad
