Wait more than 2 minutes before resending your post,

Have you tried reloading the drivers for your speakers, the file could have been corrupted when your power failed

When I had similar problems in the past, I just went into Device Manager and deleted the item and then shut down my system. When I rebooted my computer, the device was recognized and everything was OK again. Cool Cool

See if you can identify your speakers in the Device Class called

SOUND, VIDEO AND GAME CONTROLLERS.

I have to go back to work now. I am at home over my lunch break. My employer does not appreciate playing on the internet during working hours--My employer considers it as "Steaing".

Please tell us what you see listed under the catagory that I listed.

Please describe the symptoms again:
Do you hear sound from the small internal speak in your case?
If you a CD do you hear any sounds?
If you surf the internet do you hear any sounds?
If you stream a video, can you hear the sound?
