I know Microsoft provides base aircraft config. files for generic aircraft types for us to modify, but my projects are all Sci-Fi fantasy craft so far and I need hover-like approach and takeoff performance from my air-cars and such, so I've relied so far on a few config text files from other cool fantasy craft. I know a fair bit about some of the workings of the Config. files but even after tweaks they're based on someone else's work. I know this was addressed in general here some time ago, but my interest here is only the .AIR file and the Aircraft config. file. I'm assuming it happens all the time, with credit given to the author of the scooped files. Anyone?
P.S. I will probably be a while before I have a decent upload, but this stuff is good to know. |

| There's two ways to look at it in my opinion. One, you could give credit to the author of the file that you reworked, i.e. "original flight dynamics by So and So, modified by Me", or "adapted for this File from File by So and So". Two, dont mention it, in it's new and unique state as generated by you it is simply part of the file. You could always give the history of the file with remarks in a header paragraph in the .cfg and if I remember correctly, you can also remark on the author or authors in line 2 "description = " of the .air file. |
