Hi I've checked just about all the forums to get help with this but I'm just getting bogged down.
Today I have bought two usb headsets with microphone. One for myself and one for my son. We both have FS9,FSM and access to the internet. What I need to know is what is the easiest way for us to communicate with each other when flying online together instead of typing in the chat box and is there any easy instructions on how to set up the headset to control certain parts of FS9.
I have looked at FSM's voice edit section and also Teamspeak's website but can't get my head round any of them. Might just be an age thing but I'm sure some of you seasoned veterans out there will be able to help.
By the way...I have also downloaded Microsoft Speech SDK 5.1 which one website said was needed but haven't got a clue about this either.
Thanks. |

i, and a good bit of people use www.goteamspeak.com, Download the CLIENT VERSION then pull up the webserver list to join a TeamSpeak Server. I am on the 169th Virtual Airforce (169th.hopto.org is our server). from there you can join someones group, or almost start your own, to which you can have "hands free" voice ability to talk to your son, or other players that are on the server with you. If you would like to check out the 169th VAF, download TEAMSPEAK (www.goteamspeak.com) > CLIENT VERSION > then put in 169th.hopto.org in the server address box (2nd box down) and make a good RECRUIT name. then come on in, or go to http://www.169thvaf.net/album2_005.htm to learn about us, and join us there.
We'll be looking for you. |

| Or, you could use yahoo chat with "voice" if you are not sure of dealing with teamspeak. I find that either will work just fine. |

Thanks for the replies guys. I will look into Teamspeak later tonight. I currently have MSN so I may well start off using that for the present until I get used to Teamspeak.
Thanks |

I use Roger Wilco, it's a very simple, easy-to-use freeware program that records your voice when you talk and transmits it to the recipient(s) in the conversation. What I do with my uncle is that I use RW and leave it to run in the background and play FS, and then we talk to each other! It's so simple

| or squackbox private channel however this requires you to use real time Air Traffic Controll when controllers are on. Vatsimusa in pilot resources allows you to use this. You will need two vatsim Id's. All of this is free. |
