I know that a lot of people have been asking for repaints, and paint programs so that they can make their own textures. I have looked though a good bit of the Repaint Forum to try and find some paint prog's, but i couldn't find a good one. If anyone knows of a good painter that you could just point me toward so i can take a look at it, it would be greatly appreciated.
i have a few ideas of what i would like to paint and how i want it painted, and i had asked a few people if they would help out, but that was over 5 months ago, and they have not responded to any inquiries that i have had about the progress, so i give up. I'll just try to repaint it myself, that is if someone would be kind enough to just point me toward a decent painter, preferably a free one. |

Hmmm????
Couldn't find a good program for repainting a/c??? It is all over the place for the different programs to repaint a/c.
The question I have for you, is this. How well do you want it to turn out, and are you ready to pay for it or not???
If not, you may try this : http://www.gimp.org/ it is freeware.
There might be others that are free, but I don't know them.
As for payware, there are alot of them. I use Adobe photoshop 6.1.01 and CS2. Both will let you do paints as well as photo editing and graphic designs. Another is Paint Shop Pro. I believe it is thru Correl (sp). Another is FS Repaint.
Either way, they are there in the forums. You just need to do some site searching for them.

There is another one called Image studio or Image something or other, not sure exactly of the name or if it is free or payware. |

| As for me, I use PhotoshopCS2 and ImageReady from Adobe alongside DXTBmp, which handles the conversion between FS and the image editor. I also use FSRepaint, but it lacks some of the goodies of dedicated image editors and can be problematic when using it in external editor mode. It is also very useful to view your changes without having to startup FS everytime. The other really nice tool in FSRepaint, it it's light-map editing tool for tweaking the wing and logo lights on aircraft that are so equipped. |

| pretty much all i want to do, is take the words off of 1 aircraft and put the name of my Airline on it. Im trying to do it in MS Windows Paint, which i know is not the best of programs to use, but hey, i already got it, and i dont really have the funds to pay $80 for someone else to do it.. Plus it will give me a better chance to better my skills. |

As GS suggested, I would highly recommend getting DXTbmp and the trial version of FSRepaint. I am not sure, but you should be able to use DXT with your paint program.
The FSRepaint will let you see what the a/c looks like even before you fly it. It is a great tool.
And both are freeware. Adobe Photoshop CS2 has a demo that you can use temporarly, 30 days, so I would suggest getting it, so you can get done with the best of quality in the short time.

| FSRepaint may be freeware, but the free version is a demo and won't allow you to save the textures you create. |

I recommend FSRepaint as a way to see the a/c that is painted, therefore the reason of getting the demo. I, in no way suggested that it be used to paint a/c.
If you have DXTBmp, that is the program to save your textures in. And use a good paint/photo editor to use as the format.
