| For all of you that have my new KMKJ scenery, get ready to remove it soon! As I wait for word from some other airports that I am looking to "scenerize", I am developing a new and improved version of MKJ, complete with a terminal interior, and maybe some real eye candy. I'm thinking maybe a segmented circle for the windsock, PAPI systems (so the lights wont just be floating there), and if I can (THAT IS A BIG IF), I will make a hill next to the runway like the one in real life for the beacon to sit on. This will be version 2, and the airport is not done growing, with taxiway lights being installed soon and a new terminal being planned!

| It is a very fun airport to work with. The airport staff were escpecially helpful with it. It might be located in the boonies of southwest Virginia (right outside of a small town called Rural Retreat, founding place of Dr. Pepper soft drink!!!), but it is a great place to fly. If you look at my avatar now, that is a picture I took from a plane of the real thing few weeks ago.

Please remember that when I release this scenery, to note the presence of a small waste bin near the entrance to the terminal... That and the picnic table were what the airport attendant noticed were missing in the scenery If I were any good at aircraft repaints, I would make a Carilion Eurocopter EC-135 with a good freeware EC-135 I found to go along with the scenery, as MKJ is its base (the little doublewide trailer behind the hangars is where the crew stays until they are called out).
HEY!!! I just remembered... in my little avatar, you can even see the helicopter! It landed just as we were getting in the plane. Have a look at it!

This one is the only one I have at the moment, I took it as it was landing. There may be more on the website. www.carilion.com/cpts

Nope, but I haven't given up either. I am finished with my last project. Now I have a new one, LOL.
lmao, I noticed the chopper on your link has the flag backwards. Yours is correct. Also, do you have any or the people there have any pics of the helo. I already started the paint, and is coming along good. This is what I am starting out with.

This is the only other one I could find, and I am in NC for a month visiting my dad, so I wont have access to the airport for a while to get to take pics of the heli. I have talked to the Carilion guys before and they let me take a little tour of the inside, so I think they would be willing to help me out with it, as soon as I can get back up there.
As for now, the local airport is KRCZ (45J in FS2004, the identifier was recently changed and there is no way to change it that I know of, not evem with AFCAD2) and I am thinking it will be my next scenery project. It is undergoing similar expansions like MKJ with a parallel taxiway and apron expansion underway.

| There are one or two more if you search Google Images and search for the phrase, "Carilion Lifeguard".

Just one, the other three are lifeguard 10, and its stationed in Roanoke I think... It looks like the livery is the same on both sides of the helicopter.
On another topic, does anyone know where I can get a small pic of a VFR chart for the whole US? If I model the terminal interior, I will need it as there is a very large US VFR chart on the wall, thought it would make an interesting detail!

Lambo,
I have the pics I need, so I am good to go. However, what would take 2 days for GS to do, will take me 2 weeks. I am just starting this, and learning new things everyday.
So bear with me, OK.

Sounds good. It took me forever and a day to learn scenery design. I hope my update will look better than the original!
I have also located my next scenery project: Rockingham-Hamlet airport! Anybody like NASCAR? Rockingham is home of North Carolina Motor Speedway (The Rock!) Sadly, they don't use it much anymore, but back when they did, on race weekend the airport would be filled with planes.
