I would really appreciate any information that will make my decision on purchasing a/an optimal system. Please do email me at Bigturk82@yahoo.com Thanks Again!
I think the 6800 is enough to handle FS2004 very smoothly. Now, I like the expandability for the setup. For example, you have lots of expansion room, so you can easily upgrade in the future.
In my opinion, make the dvdrw a 16X dual layer type for more functionality. A second unit such as a dvd/cdrw combo is a cheap but effective addin. Make sure you get the BIGGEST power supply you can find/afford and an extra case fan. And a bit bigger monitor will make you smile about the experience.

Right now, for your viewing pleasure, the 6800 is a good card, and you will be pleased with it. Around the time FSX comes out, I would recommend getting the 7800 for it. This will give you time to save up for it, if you need to.
Your specs do not include fans or a power supply. Make sure the V-card has a fan on it, as some do not come with one. Also find out how many fans are inside it. As for a power supply, I personally recommend 550w or more. Better to have more than enough than too little.
I like GS's recommendation for the DVD/CDRW combo. It would make your system more versatile.
In the short run, the 6800 would be good for FS2004 to go, as you will later need a (much) more expensive upgrade to run FSX... But if you want to wait so that the cards will come out that support DX10, then I'd suggest putting down the grafix card plan and wait to see which cards WILL support DX10
As for the Processor... if you want a P4EE (P4 Extreme Edition), then why not buy a Intel Core 2 Extreme for just $100 more? It will be a whole lot faster, and you will really have TURBO SPEED .
As for the monitor. I agree. Get a 19"... I lived with 17" before... and when I got the 19" I was *beep*! what a hell of a difference!! ". Its only 2 inches, but trust me... the difference is huge... and I mean HUGE. You won't regret getting a 19" instead. If u could, I'd get a 20" or 21", but thats only if you can afford it .
