I would really, really, like to see where it says you need a 32x DVD ROM.
The only ones available are all 16x.
Double check what your specs are. Sounds like your 24x is for CD's, and not DVD.
Mine is a DVD+-rw 16x dual layer with lightscribe, and CD specs are 52x,32x,52x.

8x speed is min
I have the Lite-On-It: DL DVD R/W & CD RW burner/player COMBO Player bundled with Nero 6+.
Same almost as yours RD!
I love backing up all of PROGRAMS tree in one click. Using DL at 4x (5.5 Mb/s) DVD-R: 8.5 GB max cap. I dig that!
Click, leave, come back in 24 minutes. 8.5 Gb on DVD! NOW that is the way to back up. NEVER a problem.
Steve

| What model is it? If you know it, you can probably get the specs online. If you don't know the model, usually any computer profiler can find that out. The top DVD drives that are out only have DVD read speeds up to 16x. |
