As I climbed into my craft, I realized I was going to make history. Upon takeoff, I saw the earth below me fall away. I knew that all eyes would be upon me after landing. This was the moment, the moment every pilot dreams of. To bust the barrier and continue to go boldly, where no one, not even a chick, had gone before.
I turned DOWN my VISOR RESOLUTION to 16, a bit at a time. EVERY LITTLE BIT helped when I lowered it. I closed the SCREEN to the window, from the standard 1024*768 to an easier fit and use at 800*600. YES the target was coming within range.
I noticed the weather had abated! NO CLOUDS. Just simple ones spread far apart. It gave me a fantastic view of the terrain below. Flat, lifeless, just a MEDIUM type of terrain. Even my AB's did not need help. Off went the F-x model gun and I reset to medium.
We were so close to target now, I noticed the MONITOR in front had a EXTREME HIGH RATE of REFRESH and that the Vertical Sync was engaged. I turned it down to 72 Hz. I disabled the Vert. Synch. CLOSER... oh I could taste that success!
HOT DOGS.... PEANUTS....Temporellos!
Then, at 102,525 feet up, she broke the record, 38 FPS!
The AMERICANS HAVE DONE IT AGAIN I YELLED!
ALL it took was to clear out the textures as much as possible. Turn off some settings, kill the effects as much as possible, & LET THE GAME Control THE VID Communication I/O device.
Well mine is not 38......but 24! I used all my magic dust!
PS: I have the 2003 model nVidia FX5200DT dual dacs at 350 MHz/275 Core bw. 128 MBs DDR, 128 bit, a partridge in a "2 pixel clocks."

Nice one TomcatDriver, thanks for sharing...I enjoy your writing styles and enthusiasm. (And the insight from your tweak-fests). Sounds like you're having fun with FSX!
Sorry to hear of your bad news.
Dewayne's mom called me last night & told me he really liked to crew with me, I KNEW something horrible had just hapenned.. I was right. I guess the Jp-4 finally got to his skin! Such nasty keroscene. He passed away from Naptha induced skin cancer!
