Is it the PSS Add-On? Problems with the elevator and the startup sequence or some with the AP? If so, I might be able to help.

I got no reaction to my e-mail, so here is what I know:
If you are using the PSS add on for A319/320/321 and if you have no joystick, the elevator will not work. You can takeoff the way you would handle an elevator faillure in a glider: Use the elevator trim, it works. As soon as the plane is in a stabile climb, switch to AP (with the programmed MCDU, of course!).
However, this makes landing very difficult, so I suggest to make only ILS procedure landings (even with a strong crosswind it will work fine unless you did not enter it to your MCDU landing page) as long as you don't have a joystick.
Perhaps I was able to help somebody with it.
