I run everything maxed out and with ultimate traffic adding thousands of flights, ai and airport afcad and fsglobals 12+ gig of terrain mesh I can't complain about 20 fps. The major factor that seems to slow down my frames is airport traffic density depending on scheduled flights at the time of day I am flying. I use active sky 2004.5 weather engine and it took care of the lag there for the most part.
I still consider getting a new video card just to see the frame rates climb but I have been putting this system together since it was a pentium II 266 with a Geforce 2. Nice to just enjoy what I have for now. Have fun and don't sweat the small stuff.
In two years the chip architecture will have changed and terahertz processor speeds will lay this discussion a moot point. |
