Check out this link.

I assume that some holiday packages contained new hardware items (that can not yet take advantage of Vista or DX 10). My parents sent me a check for Christmas. I deposited the money and will wait a few more months before considering any hardware purchases. I think that Confusious (I am not sure how the great Chinese wiseman spelled his name) had some words of wisdom about this subject.

Yup, not surprised about DX10. Also heard that Vista has serious bugs, mostly with security.
Looks like it will be about a year before FSX and Vista settles down...
XP and FS9 will be around for awhile.
P.S. Missed Oshkosh this year after years of attendance. I got to fly the Wright flyer (full size mock up) FS simualtor one year. Never flew a worse flying airplane. It is amazing that the Wrights learned to fly it...
From the Wright Flyer to the moon in less than a 100 years. Now that ain't too shabby for the human race...
The EAA museum at Oshkosh is much better than the Aerospace museum in Washington. The EAA museum is a must see for anyone that loves flying.
It is open year around. Be sure to take a good indoor camera.. I always stop by when I have a chance...
We sold our summer home in Fondy and friends and relatives are dying off. So, won't be getting back there much anymore...
The Wheel of Life Turns Once Again...

The way the article reads in the link suggests that FSX is delayed. Thats probably unintentional and only down to the poor way it was written. I haven't bought it yet anyway, as I've read a few comments from people far better versed in such things than myself who are going to sit and wait, until all the recriminations/resignations/software re-writes/and patchs are made available due to the the usual 'lets REALLY beta test it on the paying public' aftermath is settled! !!
I'm sure though that when combined with a very powerful front end and a crisp monitor it will be the dogs undercarriage, such a shame that it will involve serious investment to get the best from it, but hey, what's money? |
