It all depends on your graphics settings. If your graphics are turned up at more than medium, that setup will probably strain to get the frames you're getting. I think another gig of RAM and a higher video card can increase those frames. Or you can just turn down your graphics settings.

What video bus does your motherboard have?

Here are just a few articles for you to review. There is a statement from Microsoft in one of the articles that I read several weeks ago that states that "even at lower Display settings, FSX outperforms FS9". They also stated that FSX has been designed to utilize hardware which may not be available for another 4 or 5 years. Therefore, do not expect to move your sliders as far as you did with FS9 and expect to have the same high frame rates. Cool Cool

also just to make mention, that FSX being 15Gigs, and FS9 only being 2.... FSX will eat system resources for breakfast, lunch and dinner compared to what FS9 would eat. Sorry to say, but until Microsoft (or someone else) comes up with a FPS patch, FSX is gonna run slower even on bare bones minimums (with no scenery, low quality graphics, no weather, and no AI) ... that is unless you just got a new computer for christmas that has 50Gig+ Harddrive, P4 Duo Core processor, and a Raedeon 7900 (or higher) graphics card to process all the info FSX wants to steal.

I use a 2003 nVidia GPU series FX5200,64 bit, 128 MB DDR, Dual DAC's @ 350MHz / 250Mhz Mem. Core bandwitdhs. (AGP 4x-8x) Latest Drivers.

Powerbox: 600 W PS, custom made, AMD XP-2500+ Barton Core CPU at 1.833 GHz, Via KT400 mobo, FSB @ 333, 2.5 Gb DDR PC2700 Micron Ram

FS9: MEDIUM SETS: 27 MAX, Low Sets: 38 FPS
FSX: LOWEST SETS: 25-27, MEd Sets: 12-15 FPS.

Nothing Overclocked.

I have NO problems EVER. It is in the BIOS/CARD SETTINGS, not just the game.

I have written two articles on this issue. NOBODY SEEMS TO USE THE SEARCH BUTTON!

Find these articles. I have given you JEWELS in the ROUGH!

If not interested. PLEASE do not post these "?". THE ANSWERS HAVE BEEN WRITTEN and rewritten so many times, it makes my head hurt.

The secrets are FROM ATI/nVidia.

Now go find these in the Surclaro database on your own. Read them. Reset certain variables to the settings I recommend as TOLD TO ME in WRITING by nVidia/ATI.

Tomcat Driver.
I do not want to sound like a bear, but this is OLD STUFF.

How is that possible!!!???

Maby because FSX has moving jetways, airport traffic, boats, cars, trucks, animals, ferrys etc?
Maby because FSx's texture resolution is over doubble the same as FS9?
Maby because FSX's water has a lot more reflections, sparkling etc that's not even possible in FS9?
Maby because FSX has bloom?
Maby because FSX has a more autogen at normal than FS9 has on max?
Maby because FSX's planes have window reflections and a lot more systems modeled?

And I can keep going...

Hey, as stated so many times before, FSX was advertised from the beginning as being able to give a Cray the cramps. So I think I've had just about enough of the crying over how poorly the old engines run on the new gas. If you have a legitimate point or question, we're all ears. If you just want to stew over poor performance, you will only create another pointless and excaserbating effort to wrangle out all the ifs, maybes and woulda-coulda-shoulda's.
