I got a used laptop for Christmas and here's its specs: Pentium III 1.066GHz, 512MB RAM, Radeon 16MB vid card(this probably hurts my chances of it working), and it's Windows 2000 Professional. Honestly, I don't expect it to be able to run any games, my family didn't buy it for them. I'm not really interested in computer games, FS is the only one that interests me.

You can definitely run 2k2, 2k4 would be a stretch and I'm betting it would run away from home if you showed it the wrapper from the FSX box Laughing

Haha. Would 2002 run smooth and everything? Or would it play it but not well enough to enjoy?

not regaurding this but laptops get very hot, so hot they get caught on fire. This is mostly due to batteries that are not form the manufacture and say that they are compatable. So when playing make sure the vents are not obstructed with anything. They also sell laptop cooling pads, i had one and it seemed to help. Other than that is should play it on medium settings.

Happy NewYears

EDIT BY RD: Not true 121 concerning the batteries. The batteries overheating and burning/catching on fire, are the original batteries that came with the laptops. They WERE NOT caused by second brand batteries.

It's been a while since I had 2k2 loaded up. When I ran it the hardest it was on an AMD 1.6ghz 512mb with ATI Radeon9200 desktop. Yours is close enough to it for 2k2 requirements that I imagine you will have a pretty decent experience. There are several enhancements that help cut down on processor requrements that will be important for the laptop environment to help extend battery life and reduce case heating.
