Here is the back and forth regarding repainting an aircraft with any association to Budweiser or Anhauser-Busch.
I e-mailed them:
"To whom it may concern,
I am a member of the flight simulator community and a moderator at
Surclaro.com. Lately a few of the members have expressed a desire to find
decent images of the Bud Jet for the Superbowl so that they can "repaint"
the aircraft in Flight Simulator. I think it would be a little bit of free
advertising if you would be so kind as to make the images available and
provide permissions for images of the jet to be recreated for Flight
Simulator. That way, some of us who wont be winning the tailgate party
contest can still sooth our feelings by firing up the old computer and
starting Flight Simulator, getting on our own Bud Jet and taking off for the
big show......virtually speaking. Thank you for your time.

To which they replied:
"Thank you for your e-mail John! We appreciate receiving comments and
feedback from our consumers. As you can appreciate we cannot grant
permission to use the Budweiser logo as we are under licensed by
Ansheuser-Busch. We do thank you for your support and interest!
Cheers!

And that be that........ |

Thanks for the effort G.S., I was wondering how they'd react or if you'd even get a response. Well, at least they were all polite and cheery about being anal retentive. Thing is, in my opinion, a nice repaint or two would probably be viewed as a very cool compliment to the company if they would just give it a chance. Sounds like they all had a great big bowl of Corpthink for breakfast. |

Well, technically they are correct, it is AB, not Buds control over licensing. So GS, when are you going to resend the letter to AB???
Don't tell me your giving up that quickly. It is only one more step.
Actually impressed they even replied. Would've put a case on it that they wouldn't. |

| Well, I would've thought that she might have picked up the phone and called somebody. It looks like she might have been spouting the party line. I mean, c'mon, do they get in a tizzy at what people displaying their product do in the pits or the infield? I dont see any AB rep.s beating up the truck manufacturers about using red and white paint on their vehicles. The idiota keep giving me a hard time about smoking and spouting all the usual bogus science but nary a word about the scourge of our lifetimes.........alcohol. So, no, I am not going any farther. I had my experience with alcohol when I was younger and keep getting reminders all the time. When you live in a retirement community that is heavy in military you also have to put up with a lot of the old guard mentality towards getting ****faced to keep out the real world. |

| When did A-B buy Labbat? Labbat's is a Canadian beer isn't it? I know it is now brewed under license in the US. But a close family friend was the Brew Master in B.C. for nearly 40 years before he retired from Labbat. |
