Yes, in FS9 - but keep the goodies to a minimum in FSX

Not usually, but will if the 'Readme' for an add-on says to do so for proper effect

Hi all...I have a brilliant 'Silver' finish for 'The Silver surfer' (finally, Eureka!!), but the overall effect relies heavily on the insanely reflective alpha channel that I've melded into a chromey DXT3 bitmap. I'm not sure it would look like much of anything without aircraft 'REFLECTIONS' turned on in your FS2004 settings though, so I thought it might be a fun poll question.
