What are some essential addons (freeware) for fs9 that can really make gameplay more enjoyable?

Links would be appreciated! =]

possible better scenery for your local airport, or for your favorite airport that you fly out of. or anything that you might like to possibly have. Its a little hard to tell others what will make it better if we dont know your likes or dislikes. I might love flying my Steve Hinson F14Drev4 but you dont, you might hate it.... I love flying out of my home airport KCHS that i added 2 ficticious (fake) runways too... but it eats FPS and you will hate it.... it just depends on what YOU want and like.

Define "Essential".

Software/programs that can let you paint, build a/c, build scenery, edit your AI, Mangage your installs, etc.

Aircraft....Fighters, bombers, civilian props, WWII vintage a/c, Newer airlines and/or aircraft, choppers...etc

Scenery...Add to your local/favorite a/p, towns/cities/states/countries. Highly detailed mesh LOD's, environment upgrades, Terrain upgrades, realistic water and clouds and sunrise/sunsets....etc.

Effects......Lens flare, nav light upgrades, better storms/lightening, shoot fire balls, drop a NUKE ( he-he)...etc.

Welcome to FS9, and all the possible possibilities you can do, add, remove, and edit.

It all depends on how far YOU want to go. And what YOU want.

Personally, I find the two most essential addons for FS are 1) a brain and 2) a life. Neither of which are available over the web. Wake up Neo, the matrix has you...............

I would say that a must-have program is Ground Environment
I do also love Xtra Water. It's great!

But as the others said, we can list a much more if you tell us what you're looking for Wink

Actually there are no really essential addons to have fun with FS9. However I am a control panel freak......I want my instruments...Abacus Custom Panel Design will let you build the panel you want in a certain a/c. Also I have found it is really fun to build the scenery up around places you have flown out of or know about. Abacus EZ-Scenery lets you do amazing things to make your airport of choice look like something you recognize. Also the Scenery downloads from This site and FltSim add to what you can do with EZ Scenery. I was able to make Rorotonga in the Cook Islands look like it really does...Fun in a J3 Cub

Take it slow and build carefully..... It's all for fun anyway.....Bob in Texas
