Do a search using start:
START > SEARCH > FILES or Folders > TERMs in Files box:
*.AIR
This will locate ALL FS 9/10 .AIR files, there are not that many. Should be fast. UNHIDE not needed, they are open to view as loaded.
Scroll to find yours.
Note Directory Path from C. > IF C is the partition used for FSX load.
I just tested, works fine. just> *.AIR
then enter key.
If not there, go to the "B. Triangle", lol, j/k.
When found, copy back to correct location, test,if ok, DEFRAG! DEFRAG!

Right on,
Air file is a unique name if given, best to wild card search. It resides in main folder. You find air file, you have found folder. MOST OF THE TIME.
Boats?
Aircraft have been known to want to be a fish or boat, lol.
Have fun.
