I have downloaded pretty much every addon aircraft carrier on Surclaro. I have correctly installed them, and they appear in the search for addon scenery when I am choosing my airport.

Now for the problem. I load up, and the carrier is above (floating) about 5 different small concrete strips. Whenever I try to slew onto the carrier, or start on it, I can't get within 50ft of the damned thing without the game saying I crashed into a building. Can anyone tell me how to fix these problems? I can't use the carriers with them.... Sad (by the way, I'm running FSX)

there is your problem...... take them OUT of *** FSX *** FSX wont read them properly!!!!! "most" FS9 scenery will NOT work in FSX. FSX uses a different coding system than FS9. if you do want to use them, then you have to have an AFCAD Conversion Patch in place to "recode" the AFCADs to FSX standards. Sorry. Now, for the next question that i know you are about to ask, "where do i find the AFCAD conversion patch??" i, personally, dont have a clue cause im not trying to move scenery files yet... im still working on aircraft. but RD, and TomcatDriver, and i think GroundSquirrel do know where to find the FSX AFCAD Patch.

Hope this helps.

YESSIREE BOB I sure do know where to get it.

Go to AVSIM, and in the FSX Utilities, you'll find a file "FS92FSX" that is what you need to convert FS9 scenery to work in FSX. Make sure you read it carefully, and don't skip anything.

USE carr2006. ONLY, it has just been tested by me for beta on new Carrier Ops Pack 3 for landing on MOVING carriers coming out Today or MONDAY.

The AFCAD CONVERTOR ONLY DOES AF2's! NOT .MDL FILES, nor .BGL files which are the boats! REMEMBER THAT! SO PLEASE! HEED WHAT I SAY.

Here is the file EVERYONE thinks will work, WRONG! Why is that, look at the file, you tell me? Go ahead, use it, see how fast you can repair the damage you will do.

"File Description: FS92FSX.zip
I worked out a very quick and easy way to Convert FS2004 (FS9) AFCAD files so they can be used in FSX. You do not need any real knowledge of AFCAD files or any othrograms as all are included in this download. I also created a small "batch file' that will help "Auto Convert" your FS2004 AFCAD Files. by Ian Thatcher.

FLightSimFighter:
1. Put a PM on your Personal site in Surclaro

2. State your age, it helps others get the correct mindset for the answer.

3. Put you email addy on the bbs. In case their is an urgent need to get in touch with you.

4. READ THE d.... readme file. NOT ONE SINGLE CARRIER STATED: CAN BE USED IN FSX! DUH! You created a firestorm with me on this. Others will be lit up when they read this post.

I am sure every top gun pilot/developer in this forum are not mind readers. When we create something IT STATES what platform to use, it is a rule with FSIM!

You never even took five minutes to read the documents, WHY DO WE EVEN TYPE them OUT? I guess you must think it is crayon paper to color on? No, or is it you just are in such a hurry?

Since this is your first post here, I will go light on this. Otherwise as everyone who knows me: "El Gato con Diablo para e' muy descompuesto cabeza", you would have wished you did read all the docs.
Please do so in the future. It will keep the people who make these artistic works happy.

If you would have even read the FILE_ID.diz header, you and I would not even be talking to each other now.

Please take note, you are NOT the first one to do this but I pray to God YOU ATR the LAST one.

Well, JESUS CHRIST I READ THE FRIKIN README'S ALL THE TIME SO I KNOW WHAT PLATFORM THE STIKING SCENERY USES.

You people don't need to have a spaz attack. I know what a readme is, and I read them SPECIFICALLY TO KNOW WHAT PLATFORM THE FILE IS MADE FOR. BUT PARDON ME FOR THINKING THAT FS9 SCENERY WOULD WORK IN FSX!!!!!!!!!!!!

All someone had to do was state the way to either convert the scenery to FSX platform or that it DOESN'T work. If you just give me plain facts, I can use the rest of my large computer knowledge to figure it out! No one needs to post a whole ARTICLE SAYING THAT I AM AS ABOUT AS SMART AS A MONKEY!

P.S: TomcatDriver, don't start with me. I know most of what I'm doing. I now know that you are definitely the kind of person that wants other people to know what they are doing. I do. So don't ever say that I don't know what I'm doing. I'm pretty sure you wouldn't be to intent on it either.
