What exactly is the difference between vfr and ifr
When you fly vfr, does it only apply to your landings?
Or is it when you fly with no VORs, NDBs, etc
And ifr im guessing is when you fly with all the VORs, NDBs, Intersections, Etc?
So what exactly does it apply too? Your whole flight or just the landing? |

| To put it simply, VFR or Visual Flight Rules refer to flying with a visual reference to the ground and your surrounding airspace. In other words, you are relying upon visual clues from outside of the aircraft to maintain control of your a/c. IFR or Instrument Flight Rules refer to flying using only reference to the various gauges, instruments, and indicators inside the cockpit. Although IFR is typically thought of as for use in bad weather and/or poor visibility, most commercial flights utilize IFR as a means to provide safer, more efficient, and smoother travel. |
