Well I would like to make my flights more realistic.
How are you supposed to take off/land?

Into the wind while taking off?
Same way landing?

Wind---> <--- Airplane

Or some other way?

It's in the lessons built into FS. Nothing beats hands-on, not even the most descriptive post.

you are correct alpha. wind --> <-- airplane. reason being is the wind helps create lift on the structures (wings and main body) thus causing the engines to not have to work as hard. ....

ie. <-- 110 Thrust / Airplane --> <-- Wind 10 knots = 120 knots for takeoff

whereas:: <-- 120 thrust / airplane --> < Wind 0 = 120 for take off

also.... landing into the wind does help give you lift, but it also puts more drag on the airplane which helps slow it down. (you end up going slower but able to maintain altitude)

hope this helps a little
