It is really too soon to be starting a poll about FSX. There are many of us out in Simulator world who have FSX. The real question should be to count how many people jumped the gun and ran out and purchased Windows Vista and a DX10 compatible Video Card vs how many have enough patience to "wait until the dust settles on Vista and more DX10 video cards are available on the market".

As for me, I have no intentions during the next 12 months to spend $1,500 (more or less) just so that I can see boats in the water or elephants roaming in Africa. I use this software to learn how to fly--not to spot for wild animals.Cool Cool

Skipper has it right...

I have FSX, but it is going to be on the shelf for a long time... Vista is turning out to be a piece of crap that will require many Service packs before it becomes practicable ... Whatever happens it will still require a new high speed computer with max memories...

The present FSX is a piece of Crap also... FSX is going to require Service Pacs to get the bugs out... Read in a tech mag that the first SP is due out in Sept...

Until then, be sure to make Ghost Image backups of your XP "C" drives. It won't be long before XP will vanish on vendor shelfs...

Keep the image on the 2nd drive or better yet on an external USB drive (they are getting cheap)... USB 2 works ok on USB 1.

I helped a guy do a manual restore of his "C" drive and FS9, nasty tedious job...
He didn't know about Ghost image backups... He does now...

Tj

PS: Going to be at the EAA Oshkosh this year, missed last year. The wife retired from John Deer and gets free tickets. The kids live in Oshkosh and we will stay with them..

I like to watch the bombing and air race from the "hill" on the east side of the field. You can feel the prop wash from the racers when they fly by and the heat from the "bomb" blasts... The Bear Cat is awesome. Hope the guy with the Waco biplane with the jet engine boost will be there. Rate of climb is awesome.. You couldn't pay me to ride that thing.

Geez guys, the guy posted a simple post/poll.

Do you have FSX

Either you have it or you don't. Or you don't know what it is.

He didn't ask what you thought of it.

here's my take on fsx and vista. There isn't enough vodka and advil in my town to make \the install easier. I bought a new desktop that was "vista ready" and waited for my fsx and vista update to arrive in the mail, fsx runs slow and crappy, but my vista is nice. Unless I turn graphics down to 30%, I have slow frame rates and I'm trying my butt off to explain to the wifey that I didn't just drop two grand on new boat anchor!!!!Like some, Im gonna go back to fs9 and wait to re-install the over hyped crap that I blew my tax returns on!~! Fly high, fly fast.! HERE'S TO FRAME RATES AND GRAPHICS CARDS! CHEERS!!!
