I will do that, nice to hear from someone across the big sandbar. I used to live in Springhill before moving to Jacksonville. Thanks again.

Work...what else. lol. I sent a email to admin. thanks. I just found this site today. Now that I have about figured out what it is about, now I need to go buy the FS 2004. I didn't know you needed it first before you could download anything here. Thought the flight sim was on here. Well now I know better. I didn't see anything in the beginners area about you had to have the sim CD first. But the site here seems great. I already fly RC planes and flew a hang glider for 7 years when I lived up north. So I need something to fly indoors...lol...so why not a flight sim.
Hope its as good as it appears to be.

I suggest you also complete the basic flights because FS is slightly dffferent from real life -plus you get a neat cert!-

Here is a quick question.

Although some aircraft have a nice ref. page in the kneepad, I am still puzzled on how to calculate my V speeds. Often the pages only give the max or min weights and then an associated speed for that weight.

Is there a formula for figuring out a V speed if you are not at max capacity? Perhaps I am going to do a quick hop from San Fran International to LAX in my 747-406 with a partial load and 40% fuel, then a long jump from LAX to Denver or Saint Paul, MN with a full load.

How would I figure out the exact v speeds?

Is there a way to force the fueling pumps to appear on the tarmac? Some airports you just look around and there they are.... Others you can't find them. Otherwise have to use the W/B option (a pain)...

Flt Sim 4 is the most fun software ever written (my opinion and very stable). I bought another computer just for my Sim4... And I got the Cyborg evo stick.(you can put the rudder on the stick like an RC plane)... Also, have the Nostromo 51 pad, programmed with all basic aircraft functions gear up/down, flaps up/down, outside views, down view, prop controls, alt, esc, and save. No hunt and peck on the keyboard and no three finger commands.

Right now I am cruising the Western states with my Volpar Beech D-18 (sur claro). Also added the Ulitimate Usa scenery (well worth it) and the Abacus pop up airports locations. Try landing at the Catalina airport on the Island. Fun...
My base ops is E63 and GBN...

To be honest, I don't exactly know what the difference is between a 747-400 and a 747-406.

I do know that these are actual aircraft though.
