OK, never had this happen before, even when doing previous repaints of this aircraft.
When I go to convert a fuselage texture to DXT3 format with an alpha the converter opens the file and begins "scaling" it. This make the file about twice as big, which of course won't work when the alpha is added and saved.
How do I get this thing to stop scaling textures? I have it all done except the fuselage and every time I open it, it scales the dang thing. |

My only experience is with DXTBMP by Martin Wright. I 'OPEN' whichever file I want to convert, then go to 'IMPORT ALPHA' if I have an alpha channel .bmp pre-made....or 'Create Template', if it is an image that needs an automatic start as an alpha...to be sometimes further gray-scaled by me according to taste. When I save as a DXT3 I've never run into the problem you describe.
Are you using DXTBMP? I love it and have not run into problems yet. RD may have better insight to your 'scaling' issues than myself. Best of luck. |
