I saw some pictures that a friend of mine posted on Facebook of him at the Flight College and I saw a sight that intrigued me.

It was a Cessna Grand Caravan (C208 is it?) that was painted up in FedEx drag, so I assume it flies fairly short flights delivering mail from hub to hub, so I was wondering... would flying that plane be considered post-airline pilots rating, or is it a position that is usually filled by pilots raking up the hours to get the airline rating?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Airline_Transport_Pilot_License

That says that ATP is required for max gross weight of over 12,500 lbs on major carriers.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cessna_Caravan
The max t/o weight for a c208 is 8750 pounds according to wiki

That doesn't mean FedEx doesn't have an ATP guy in a c208, but he would be overqualified to do so. That job probably only requires a commercial rating.

Huh, I never really looked up what the ATP license meant as far as weight restrictions and stuff. Sounds good!
