Ok so I have downloaded some of the ProjectAI Aircraft Packages for an E3W (aka AWACS.)http://www.projectai.com/forums/index.php?autocom=downloads&showfile=175 I have planed out and worked on a fairly simple flight plan for several military aircraft in the Denver-Colorado Springs area. The AWACS is meant to fly from KBKF (Buckley ABF) to KAFF (USAF Academy) at 10:00am. Using Traffic Tools I have observed the plane getting clearance beginning push-back and then disappearing. The plan states that the craft is to get to KAFF at 10:10. A good long time.

WHY IS IT DISAPPERING

The plan was made using Traffic Changer

Since the attachment thingy isn’t my best friend here is the code:
//Colorado Air Force USAF

I have commented the code a fair amount so that even I will understand
Cool

What AFCAD are you using; default or one from PAI?

If it's from PAI, provide a link.

Also post up the entries from the aircraft.txt, airport.txt, and flightplan.txt associated with the AWACS A/C.

Just a general question... Does AI consider the length of the runways?
I lived in near KAFF and I know the runway length isn't long enough for this aircraft... Let me look it up though... Runway 16L/34R Dimensions: 3451 x 75 ft. Runway 8/26 Dimensions:2396 x 75 ft.

I've never heard of runway length being an issue. Funny, because that's definately a good point.

I think it's a broken taxiway link. That's "usually" the only reason an AI A/C will disappear from it's parking space at departure.

Haun, you've not responded in a while so...when you get a chance, open up the AFCAD for the departure airport and run "FAULT FINDER" from the tools menu. If there is a broken taxiway link it'll tell you.

I ran both files through AFCAD2's Fault Finder. KAFF checked out fine, can't say the same for KBKF.

It found multiple faults in that file:

Approach end of RWY32 - A single taxiway node just hanging out and not connected to anything.

NODE AND LINK POSSIBLY UNCONNECTED.
This node and link are very close but they are not connected. Should they be connected? If this is an unintended break in the taxiway then the AI will not use this path.

On the parking ramp - Appears to be a taxi node that may not be connected.

NODES POSSIBLY UNCONNECTED.
These nodes are very close but are not directly connected. Should they be connected? If this is an unintended break in the taxiway then the AI will not use this path.

Also on the parking ramp - An entire section of parking spots are not connected to a taxiway. Possibly a result of the unconnected node mentioned above.

ISOLATED SEGMENT.
This group of taxiway links is not connected to the rest of the airport. AI will not be able to enter or leave this segment. AI may freeze after landing because they can't reach parking in this segment and they may disappear on departure because they can't reach the runway. It can also lock out all other parking spots at an airport for arrivals.

Same parking ramp - Again something that may be causing the isolated segment fault.

OVERLAPPING NODES.
There are two overlapping nodes here. This may have no effect on AI operation but it is an inefficient use of nodes. Changing this is optional.

Here's the fixed version.

I removed two over-lapping taxiway nodes that were causing the problems, ran fault finder again and it showed no faults.
