United Airlines livery request

Postby teejay54 » Tue Aug 26, 2008 6:45 pm

Im new to this forum, however not new to FS. I am a United Airlines employee (36 yrs.) and I am somewhat troubled by the lack of UAL liveries available, especially in the new generation jets. The available liveries are generally the older B747,767, 757, 727, 737 and A319/20. I see American Airlines in the new generation jets at most sites, and of course there is some sense of envy. I have tried over the last several months to learn the fine art of painting UAL livery, but sadly I simply cannot do not come close to some of the fine work I have seen. So here is my request, I am looking for liveries for the following aircrafts
A330-400 PO340l or Lusa.zip (surclaro.com) http://www.surclaro.com/download.php?op ... =10&cid=18

B797 797AA_4.zip (surclaro.com)
http://www.surclaro.com/download.php?op=search&query=

B737-800 OS738wrg.zip (surclaro.com)
http://www.surclaro.com/download.php?op ... y=b737-800

I am recently divorced and still paying off my legal bill (excess of $26,500.00) but I am willing to pay a little bit for the repaints, being involved with MSFS and learning to repaint and create scenery is about the only hobby I am alble to afford.
Thanking you in advance,
Carl (teejc@comcast.net)

NOTE: All models are compatible with FS9, unless otherwise noted

I found textures (the new UA livery) for an A340-600 model on Avsim.com:
Search for this filename: texture_189775.zip
Unfortunately, in order to use these textures, you have to purchase the model from Commercial Level Simulations:
https://www.commerciallevel.com/webshop ... 17&groep=1

I also found an entire A380-800 model with UA livery. On Avsim.com search for filename: a380unit.zip

This is a fictional 737-700 from Avsim.com: os_737s_ual.zip

This file, from Flightsim.com, is the 737-800 model with UA (both old and new) livery. It is, however, only for FSX
Filename: unt738.zip

This file, from Flightsim.com, is 737-722
Filename: un733ua.zip

On Flightsim.com, search for "united airlines 737-800" under file section "Fs2004 Jetliners"
These files are for payware model PMDG 737-800.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Vince. I have no idea of what the current liveries are, for anybody. Not my thing.

Vince:
I have been to almost every site in the FS world, yes I have seen and downloaded the files you refer to, however they are generally textures only for payware aircraft. Although I would not object to paying for the repaints I am really in not a financial position to pay that much. I guess part of me is just a little dissappointed with seeing a competitors (American Airlines) have new generation airplanes and none available for United Airlines. Once again I am a United employee for over 35 years, I ve seen the good and the downfall of a once great company. The employees however are still some of the best in the industry. I guess I was looking for some fairness and equity in the availability of United livery with the new generation airplanes. I have as I mentioned tried and failed (but will continue to try) to do some of the repaints myself.
Nonetheless I appreciate your efforts in posting the files you provide me and all of us.
Thanks once again,
Carl

I haven't a clue what the newest livery looks like, on the real plane. Can somebody post up a pic please.

Yeah, I'm going to be lazy for a change. 8)

You are right, it doesn't but you can still find them, in American, US Air and many international carriers. Which brings me back to my point, why no UAL liveries?

Some are anal to the point that if a certian carrier (UAL), does not fly a certian a/c, then nobody will paint it. Most try to keep up with the current inventory of said aircraft, of said carrier. And if a carrier doesn't fly an airbus anything, then more than likely, your not going to find it available with that livery.

I've got 3 repaints ongoing now, and a fourth on the way, from Hark. If you can be specific as to the exact planes you want painted in the new UAL livery, then I need some time to do them, as well, as links to paint kits to each of them, if possible. And they must be freeware, not payware.

If that's cool with you, let me know.

Thanks for the offer, let me see where I can find the paint kits for the airplanes I am looking for, been looking for some time so waiting isn't a problem.
Just to give you so information, I am looking for the A340-600, B797 and the B737-800 with winglets. I am sure this is a lot to ask for, so again take you time. Hopefully by the time your done, I will have some available funds to pay you for your efforts.
Thanks again,
Carl

Umm.... I don't do it for the money. Never have, and never will.

All I ask for is the time to do them, and what I need to do them right.

I owe more people than you know, for what I can do. And none of them have ever asked for reimbursement. And I in kind, will do what they have done. Ask for nothing in return.

@mel... I do eat. Probably more than you do. As for sleep, who needs it?? Nothing gets done when you are. 8)

@GS ... She left me, when I found out that she had an expiration date. LOL.
