Memorial Day
In Flanders Fields In Flanders fields the poppies blow Between the crosses, row on row, That mark our place; and in the sky The larks, still bravely singing, fly Scarce heard amid the guns below. We are the Dead. Short days ago We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow, Loved and were loved, and now we l...

ANyone have a good Cougar profile for FSX?
After paying for enough plastic that wore and broke I went the metal way and I love this thing.
Now what I need is a good profile to play with.

I would like to add 1 thing. I have the opportunity to train in (supposedly 60 million dollar) simulators, http://www.csc.com/industries/government/news/2294.shtml and many a time I have told the techs, you guys need to spend 60 bucks and get FSX on here instead. They are graphically and systematica...

If you still have the original fs9.exe file use it, and rename the NOCD patch to back-up PRIOR to installing MS patch. Then after patched with MS upgrade reverse the process. If you dont have original fs9.exe, look for it on disc 1, place it in main directory and rename the NOCD patch backup, contin...

Here's the "BRILLIANT" part of the Army, now they are looking for an "off the shelf" aircraft to replace the Huey. A light-medium utility A/C to replace this beautiful fully functional machine because the Hawk is too much some places and not enough at others when compared to the Huey. Absolutely bri...

Our beloved Huey is going away....for good
Well, I just flew my last day flight in the workhorse and beloved machine which changed aviation, the way helicopters are viewed, utilized and respected worlwide. As of 24 Sep. the Army is divesting itself of all Huey interests, at least at Rucker, and putting them in moth balls. This is a hush hush...

RWY light intensity question
OK, I have some dim lights on my runways. I have gone thru and made the suggested changes "out there" to my fs9.cfg file, but all it changes is the size of the light, not the intensity. I have all 4 light settings at 1.0 and have tried many variations. Now if they were stronger that would be very ni...
And the crowd ROARS!!!! COBRA'S COBRA'S COBRAS'S What else did you expect I would ask for, the F-Model of course, light Tow config with a 19 shot pod on each wing. And a decent true-to-form interior please with working HUD, APR-39 and functional RMS. Is that asking too much? Well, one can always dre...

Great helicopters..........where are the blades?
OK, I found some very nice looking models of AH-1F's and a CH-47. They look great but I got the "this is not supported do you want to turn things off" or something like that line. I answered NO ands get the body of the A/C but no M/R blades. What's the deal with that?. They are for FS2002, but I hav...

Funny you should mention this....last night I installed/used coolbits 2.0. My FX 5200 is giving me 25 FPS minimum. I just got done doing a lOOOONG flight and was avg. 30. It supposedly unleashes 25% hidden juice. Search for coolbits or NVIDIA tweaks. Did it in about 15 minutes...if I can pull this o...

Well defrag wont work because I run Diskeeper, it defrags whenever my screensaver comes on. Which means I'm at max defrag all the time As far as memory, I have a gig of DDR. And like I said the game runs great, and so does my system, it flies all the time. It's just the above mentioned that's proble...

Slow FS9 bootup.....anyone else?
I have max programs turned off and the FPS in the sim are great (15-30fps) but boot up and access to the game take forever. Start FS9...blank screen and about 2-3 minutes. All requests inside sim, options, new flight, change airplane etc.....30 seconds min. I have an extensive AI environment and mod...

My thoughts are based upon the busier airports I have flown into. As you can see below, the stats for the mentioned airports show that the traffic flow for KATL on a daily basis for commercial traffic are roughly 6 times that of KCVG. This would account for KCVG being able to allow for parallel land...

Definitely have the plane "completely dirty" gears, full flaps, on long final. And you said you have spoilers armed, make sure you only deploy after touchdown of mains. Also as previously stated, 1100 fpm is way to much of a vertical flight path. Try 400-500 fpm and ALWAYS use the VASI, those red an...

Question about the .bgl files....I noticed above comment on 200 files. Well I have 8181 files, and they r not in the same directories. I have D/L AI A/C and the PAI add-on. I don't notice as much traffic as I would like, and none of the AI A/C I have D/L. (UPS, American, Hooters, Jet Blue, United, S...
