I 100% agree with Bromster. I too have a 6600GT, 1Gb RAM (2x512 PC2700), Asus A7N8X-X Mobo, AMD Athlon 3000+. I can run ANY game Ive thrown at it (FS2004, UT2004, TOCA 2-3, Colin MCrae 05...etc) on FULL setting at 1280x1024x32 with frame rates about 30 or even 50. I have tried a copy of FSX and my c...

I tried to use gamecam but it just would not install on my comp no matter what i tried. I personally use FRAPS 2.8. I use 1280x1024 ..18fps...half size. FRAPS does record ridiculous size movies (i.e 2 mins can exceed 1.5Gb). On the settings that I use, a 30-45 sec clip usually exceeds no more than 7...

All I am going to say is....
DO NOT GET AN AMD!...their old CPU's were great (I have one) but the new CORE 2 DUO E6700 *beep* all over the FX-62 and its cheaper.

I could'nt have put it better myself. Some very good points. I have to agree with TJ33 alot, while playing online I see alot of inexperienced people approach an airport at 6,000ft then attempt to capture the localiser just 2 miles out almost directly over the airport. Make sure you activate vectors ...

Yea definately. Although you CAN push the APR button as soon as your at ~3,000, like king, i tend to wait until the localiser becomes active. By the time your plane starts its turn onto finals you should be at around 180-200kts (depending on aircraft), then gear down.....followed by glide slope capt...

DC3 ai
After many years of playing fs2004, only today did I see my first DC3 ai aircraft. Does anyone else know of other areas where the DC3 flies as AI?

Im glad i came back to this topic, rd has worked his magic again. Although I was very much looking forward to a new x-mas present in the form of a new £1,000 computer, I may take your advice and stick with FS9 for a few more months. I can run it on full graphics at 1280x1024 at 20fps minimum anyway....

Ive heard reports from some people, that even running dual processors, with 512Mb cards and 2Gb of RAM are still getting low frame rates on FSX. If true this may be due to a crappy motherboard or none matching FSB's. If you do upgrade make sure your system is clean and healthy before you install. I ...

Alternatively, try this! (I think it works) :? This will work in almost any aircraft in FS2004 that has an autopilot, the only differences will be the takeoff and laning speeds, cruising alt and VS. In this example we will fly from KSEA (Seattle) to CYVR (vancouver) in a 737. The cruise altitude we ...

To slow down enough make sure you start your decent at about 100nm from your destination. Try to decend 10,000ft for every 33nm from your dest. This should put you at about the following: 100nm = 30,000ft 66nm = 20,000ft 33nm = 10,000ft 0 = Dest! Obviously you should take the height of the runway in...

Firstly please use normal english, this isnt a text message service! OK...The idea is to capture the localiser normally at about 2,500ft to 3,000ft (press APP on the auto pilot) when you see the localiser needle (pink) start moving. This will be at different locations depending on the aircraft you a...

Not enough resolution to see what you were doing. What speed are you doing at take off? Are you retracting your gear and flaps at the correct speeds? Test your trim using numpad 1 & 7 (without num lock on) before you put on AP to see what happens. Calibrate your joystick before you take off. And fin...

Check your speed, if your too slow and you engage AP, you may stall, set your IAS to 250kts, and odnt forget to engage auto throttle. CATIII (category III) is a system that most large airports have, and allows the pilot to let the aircraft land itself in bad conditions. Smaller airports will have CA...

In reply to your question r.e AP engagement makes plane go nose up etc... you'll probably find you mistook the V/S for the ALT. Ive done that before, more than once...the aircraft tries to climb at whatever you think you have set your alt to....usually something funny like..15,000fpm to a cruising a...
