underpowered aircraft?
The Lear 45's cruise speed is 457 kt. Why does the FSX aircraft start screaming its overspeed warning at about 320?? the service ceiling is also said to be 51,000 ft. this thing struggles to reach 40,000. and the thing is, it seems like most of the aircraft behave like this. what's the deal? :?

Working APAP glide slope indicator!
A first for Flight Sim scenery? The APAP slope indicator! (This particular setup is at Grundy Municipal Airport). This is apparently a really archaic version of VASI and PAPI. The object of the game is to line the three panels up in a row, which then indicates that you are on a proper glide path for...

Haha, no... that would only happen if something was wrong with the localizer antenna, which is at the far end of the runway. It operates just like a normal glide slope, it just looks funny. I did some digging... two other airports that have one of these are Charleston Yeager on runway 23 and Los Ang...

Ever seen one of these before?
"End Fire" Glideslope antenna array, located at Rowan County Airport. It is supposedly only one of like five in the US. It is a special type of antenna that allows for a glideslope at an airport with odd terrain (ie. the large gulley at the end of runway 20) that otherwise couldn't have one. And her...

WHOA no kidding! Sad news is, that heli is no longer based at MKJ. They worked up a deal with the New River Valley Regional Hospital, and now have their own helipad and hangar located there. She still swoops in from time to time though, always looking good! If you want a taste of the current project...

WOWZERS it has been forever and a day (precisely a year and 9 months) since the last time i've posted here! I found this old post, and saw that it was quite nostalgic. Since i've posted my angst over terrain problems, I have solved them all and created a FULLY compatible, brand new V3.0 Mountain Emp...

okay, I just installed the SP1 for Flight Sim X, and the massive hill is now sunken halfway beneath the surface of the ground. What can be done about that? Also, I would very much like to know about the seasonal texturing possibilities. Is there any way that you could make the texture for the hill l...

sorry i've been out so long... hehehe! anyways, the only problem i had with that scenery in particular was to flatten the terrain under the runway (which i eventually did by putting a taxiway underneath the runway... i know it sounds kinda weird, but it was the only thing that would WORK!) other tha...

MKJ for FSX!!!
Finally. After a bunch of tweaking here and tweaking there and yadayadayada, i FINALLY made Mountain Empire Airport fully compatible with FSX, with some extra goodies in there too. As is my personal tradition, I will upload it on the internet only after I have presented it to the pilots and employee...

FSX flatten?!
It seems my problem is not with the AFCAD, but the airport flatten area... I've moved the runway outside of the flatten area for the FSX KMKJ! Thats what is causing parts of the ground to show up through the runway. But for the life of me I cannot find any way that WORKS to create a flatten area for...
FSX afcad
how am i supposed to edit afcads in FSX? the only addon scenery i have added so far is my own Mountain Empire scenery, but the runway is flickery and parts of it do not display right. the afcad program I have doesn't seem to be able to edit FSX afcads though.

OK, I see that some of you have FSX... could one possibly do me a massive favor? Could you post a few screenshots of the default KMKJ from FSX, so I can see what I am going to be working with here? I am doing a made-from-scratch GMAX scenery, so I need a preview of what I need to do. Thanks alot!

Hey guys. I got the chopper rd, and the airport guys and the Lifeguard team went completely crazy over it. Thanks alot for that! Everybody loves it. The biggest plane that lands there normally is a Gulfstream V, we get a few of those in every now and then. There are 22 planes based there. From memor...

FS2004 crashing!
What is the deal? FS2004 crashes whenever I load a flight, no matter what airport. It loads about 50-60% then just cuts off! I've never had this problem before until i reinstalled it yesterday after my computer went haywire. I am really hoping to get my MKJ update out by this weekend, but this will ...

Okay, talk about info on "how the taxiway signs are set up". Charlie, the airport attendant, helped me out just a little bit with that earlier today. He got me in his truck and drove me down the taxiway to take pictures of every one of them, before turning out on the runway and racing back to the te...

Problem solved. To find the file, it should be in your main Flight Simulator 9 folder, in the flights folder, then in the "other" folder... it is the default flight with the C172 from Seattle. For some reason, I had that flight set as my default, and it was deleted somehow. I never could find it on ...
