Not bad, the 9800GTX+ here being 178 euros and single GTX295 being in the 400 range. Too bad IPS monitors are a tad expensive I would have plugged two 9800GTX+'s myself. But since I love my colors and had a crappy time with TN panels before (especially with professional photo editing) I had to spare...

That seems very interesting. I would have expected the new GT200 chip to outperform the older G83 chip. Looking at that the GTX295 has more processor cores (480 vs 256 in your case, 2x128), and a higher bandwidth channel (256 vs 448), and more memory 1.7GB vs 1GB. However, memory and graphics clocks...

I am planning on using a 900W PSU from CoolMaster. I used to have 620W wich was good from Corsair, but I am planning on replacing my 2-yr-old 8800 Ultra with two GTX 295's in SLI in the near future. Yep, I saved up! The choice for monitor is now: HP LP2475w 24" OR Philips 240PW9ES What do you guys t...

What monitor should I get?

Hi folks, Captainel is BACK!! :) Hehe, I am looking to buy a new PC. Since I moved to Holland from Egypt (college) I had to leave my two-year-old then-monstrous PC behind. I am however bringing my XFX 8800 Ultra with me I am looking for good specs to run FSX very good. I have set a limit of €1,100...

Ooh, sorry to make myself confusing.. I used to have Acceleration Pack, before I re-installed FSX (because all my aircrafts seemed to have no textures). Now I don't have Acceleration Pack, only SP2. If I disable DX10 in the options, all the aircraft now have textures, but when I enable DX10, 60% of ...

Yesterday I just updated my NVidia 8800 Ultra driver to the newest version (169.25). My BIOS is updated to the latest F7 version on my Gigabyte GA-X38-DQ6. I haven't gotten a BSoD yet since, because I avoided music while tasking, (but I know there are some due when I am listening to music while exec...

Updated to version 169.25 and I can assure you, there is nothing wrong with my graphics card. All my other games work perfectly, and I have no problems whatsoever with my graphics card.

Yes, I have SP2 installed. I disabled DX10 and it loaded the textures. Something is wrong with DX10 support in the aircrafts. Does anyone else have this problem with DX10 and addon aircrafts (like Wilco or anything else) not loading textures?

But I still don't understand.. how come those aircrafts don't load.. but other aircrafts do?? Is it SP2? Because I had the same problem long before overclocking my computer a while back.. after I installed Acceleration Pack. Is this due to DX10? Because It is not possible a dying CPU or Graphics car...

Problem with loading textures in Wilco 737

I have a serious problem. It seems as if a lot of my aircrafts do not want to load up the textures. An example is my Wilco PIC 737 in FSX.. the textures don't seem to load! 8O They seem to show up in the thumbnail but not in the previewing of them. What could be the problem?? This is true for a lot ...

Hmm, I agree. But maybe 3 weeks or 3 months is a bit exaggeratedly short. Maybe 1.5 to 3 years seems more reasonable, because if my CPU is in use, it'll run at 3.51GHz.. but when its idle, it'll 'throttle' down to 2.3GHz (from 9x multiplier to 6x, as of why I thought mine was underclocked to 1.6GHz ...

I know that overclocking will decrease CPU lifetime overall just for doing it. But I am still wondering if there will be any particular danger in overvoltaging the CPU above 1.52V?

Yes. Except I would add another step to your method  . I'd start from my original clock and start with +5 FSB increments increase each time. Keep your voltage where it is. Run Prime for 16 minutes or so (small FFT's!) is sufficient to simulate for most daily tasks (unless your running superhea...

I ran a test in Prime for 16hours 37minutes hours last night, no problems :D . It's perfectly stable at 3.51GHz at 1.520V. I got this optimum by raising the voltage one tiny step each time I got a BSoD while running Prime. It's a painstaking process... but I now have the optimum :) . But I am still ...

I did that. I am now at 9x 390MHz -> 3510MHz (3.51GHz), but I require a voltage of 1.520V in order not to get a BSoD after running Prime 95 with small FFTs for an hour or so. I'm running my Q6600 at 3.51GHz rock-stable at this 1.52V. But my question is... is it safe to run my CPU at this voltage in ...

I'm saying it takes 1.52V to run at 3.51GHz. Is it safe to keep my voltage at this level? Is it safe to keep my voltage at 1.520V? Intel stated the highest voltage recommended is 0.89V to 1.5V. So I'm just a little concerned, lol.

Is it safe to take the Q6600 to 1.524V? I am a little worried because I can run my Q6600 perfectly stable 3.51GHz at 1.524V.. lower and I get BSoD's.

Good day, Here, again, I come before you with a question regarding my Q6600 CPU. Temperatures, clocks measured using Everest Ultimate Edition and C...
