The historic flights are a lot of fun. Try this... Fly nothing but the ancient stuff for a week. Start with the Wright Fyer and work your way up to the 777. Use the archaic radios and adjust fuel mixture, cowling settings, propeller RPM's and all that cool stuff. Fly in a blizzard with eighty mph wi...

The simple fact of the matter is that FS is all of the above. It is indeed a great game. You can use it as a game or you can use it as a sim. However, if you want to learn how to fly for real, I suggest a "REAL" flight school. If you just want to have fun like me, FS is fabulous. FS does indeed simu...

To be honest with you, I like the carrier operations the most. To be very specific, I like trying to land on the carrier. That is where I get the most enjoyment from these sims. Trying to land on a postage stamp is fun for me. Especially at night. The combat stuff is usually almost always a part of ...

The speed of the processor may also be part of the problem. There is also the speed of the hard drive. There can be many factors that contribute to poor performance. The more "Dinero'" you spend, the better the performance. It's only money... :P

This may sound redundant but if you run the sim on full graphics it will most likely not run smoothly. Full g's are only for the best v-cards with a boatload of RAM. Try setting the graphics on a lower setting. The less graphics you use, the smoother it runs. It will still look good.

Historic Flights

With all the great, new, wizz bang stuff we can do on our computers in FS, does anyone still fly the old flights? Do you use Ded-Reckoning and do the math? Who, if anyone other than me has flown the "Tri-Motor" over the Andes? I actually spent the thirty-some hours it takes to re-create Lindbergh's ...

Let us all get our products correct here. When I speak about "Janes" products, I'm talking about "USAF" or "FA-18 Super Hornet" and the like. I may be wrong, but I do not believe that "Jet Fighter" was a "Janes" product. I could never get "Jet Fighter" to run properly. But the old "Janes" stuff ran ...

This is the absolute and total fix!!! : 8) Buy a new controller and throw that thing in the trash where it belongs or get a refund. I used to have a really cool sim called "Fly 2K". It always started cold. FS9 is good that you can make it as simple or easy as you like or as hard as you wish. Starting cold is easy in FS9. Start the flight, then turn everything off. In "Fly 2K", you had a very exact procedure to get the thing runn...

After you use a controller for a while, they sometimes either wear out or need to be cleaned. When my air compressor broke down, I asked the mechanic as he was fixing it, "What did I do to it?" His answer was, "You used it." Unplugging it and resetting the sensitivities may also work. Most problems ...

To be honest, the cost of the upgrade would be a DVD and a new graphics card. I exaggerated the cost a little. Plus an eighty dollar "Simulator". That comes to about five hundred. I only called it a game to get you all excited. The real truth is... I use it as both a sim and a game. Sometimes I just...

Is FSX Worth The Cost Of The Upgrades?

Hey all, those of you who know me know that I was never a big fan of dumping another G into my computer just to play an eighty dollar game. Take off and approach speeds???

Hey Ya'll, I'm back! Lucky you. Don't ask me where I've been, 'cause I'm not gonna tell ya'. (No, it wasn't prison.)

Does anyone know the take off and approach speeds for the C-5A? If you do know, would you be so kind as to share them with me?
