First you need to get the FS2004 SDK.

The FS2004 SDK has all the info you need to learn how to convert the gmax file to an FS model.

You can get the FS2004 SDK from one of these links:

You might want to post the link to the page where you found "your solution" so people can see the entire thread relating to that problem and what the people did that actually came up with "their solution".

It almost sounds like you are taking credit for a fix that others spent their time working out.

Did you replace the msvcr70.dll file located in the main FS9 folder?

Also, try uninstalling the add-on scenery you mentioned and see what affect if any that has. Make sure you remove all files associated with that install except those that are shared components.

That's correct. The higher the frame rate the better the sim appears. Another AI issue that can cause your FPS to drop is the number of AI A/C the sim has to render at any given time. The fewer LOD's the more detail is visible when the AI A/C is farther away, which is a waste of system resources bec...

Re: ai frame rates

I don't fully understand this part of your question: Hello: I don't fully understand frame rate is ai. The biggest thing that affects your FPS with AI A/C is the amount of detail involved in the AI model. If the modeler included several LOD's (Level of Detail), the farther away the A/C is, the less ...

Well, short of rebuilding the whole AFCAD; I can't figure it out. AFCAD2 won't let you delete original NDBs on default AFCAD files, but it is supposed to let you delete them in modified files.

I'll let you know if I find anything.

Give me some direction and I'll see what I can come up with.

Either post a link to a scenery package that you know is having this problem; or if you think it's a default scenery issue, post the ICAO for that airport and I'll take a look at it and see what we can come up with.

I ran both files through AFCAD2's Fault Finder. KAFF checked out fine, can't say the same for KBKF. This node and link are very clo...

You can open the AFCAD file for the offending airport (area) and attempt to delete the duplicate NAVAID. Make sure you select NAVAIDS from the "VIEW" menu, by default NAVAIDS are not visible when you open an AFCAD. AFCAD2 will not allow you to delete any stock NAVAIDs, so once you find and delete th...

I've never heard of runway length being an issue. Funny, because that's definately a good point. I think it's a broken taxiway link. If it's from PAI, provide a link.

Also post up the entries from the aircraft.txt, airport.txt, and flightplan.txt associated with the AWACS A/C.
