Re: HammerHawk W.I.P.

I can't believe it. I animated the gear backwards.
How many times have I done this?
Hey, not a problem if you don't mind starting out with no gear and having it extend when you hit 'retract'.
Back to the drawing board.

And yeah, I hear you giggling over there.

They're scoooping over at FSDeveloper!!!

Here's links to some excellent discussions, further links to (gasp!) webisodes and such, and ...wait for it, some enterprising soul has taken screenies of FSX to compare exact locations with some recently released 'Flight' screenies. (5 or 6 in all I think, very well done.) Awesome info and discussi...

Re: HammerHawk W.I.P.

On the virtual bench.... In the process right now of animating this mess in gmax. Four pivot points to deal with, but so far so good. Mind you, haven't tested this in-sim yet. Textures are mostly okay for the gear, may mess with them a little more. http://i343.photobucket.com/albums/o462/hark2131/ma...

Re: HammerHawk W.I.P.

I worked up a few images in 'MS Paint' to consider adding as 'kills' to the side of my fighter in progress. Just under the side of the canopy, designating how many 'kills' the little starfighter had accomplished in it's battle career to date. I envision my starfighter as a 'capitol ship killer' (in ...

Re: HammerHawk W.I.P.

Been messing with prelim textures & finally have all the bits mapped and unwrapped in gmax. Greeble images pretty well done. Tried a few things I've never done before with textures - so far so good, I'm just wondering how visible the results will be in-sim. We'll see. Time to begin actually applying...

Wow, I'm having a blast with this one, but it's getting a little ridonkulous. Probably 25 hours into creating textures from scratch but haven't laid one one to the model yet. Most of what I'm doing now is just getting colour swabs just right, doing a little composition, researching the most amazing ...

HammerHawk W.I.P.

Model's done! Okay, still have to clone and place two more repeller rings on the bottom of this futuristic fighter. 'HammerHawk' because with it's 3 twin sets of guns, it's a compact force to be reckoned with. This is by far my favourite model to date, and I'm looking forward to coming up with new t...

Re: Orbiter 2010...

Anim8or into gmax test = good.

Gmax mesh into FS test = good.

In fact, I can go nuts with little details on this one, lots of room left before she gets too poly/vertice heavy.

I will start an 'Add-ons Developers' thread once I've got a handle on this.

No no No . This is the first add-on that I found at the Orbit Hangar after installing the new Orbiter. This gorgeous 'ship city' is the astounding work of Jon Marcure. It was so cool, screenshots with this ship didn't do it justice, so when I fired up Orbiter and saw this thing in all it's glory, m...

Re: Converting JustFlight aircraft from FS2000/ to FSX

Hi, welcome to our fine forum. I don't have definitive answers for you at this time, but it might help to understand that each version of FS uses a different version of the compiler tool to put all the animations and some 'specific to the model' functions or actions together with the visual model wh...

Orbiter 2010...

...is out now. Found a nicely detailed big capitol ship for some cool screenies. Orbiter is free, and there is a...
