Re: Yaw - Lama

Good catch on the .cfg file stuff, it's probably not important though. That stuff only relates to the force feedback aspect of that chopper. I'm at a loss as to how to work the .cfg file for helicopters, I just don't see the area's that I'm used to modifying when I mess with fixed wing aircraft. Tri...

Re: Downloading and Installing Add Ons

What exactly happens though. You'll need to be a little more specific as to what stumps you particularly. Downloaded files can't be found after downloading is complete? Files Unzip to somewhere you don't know? Aircraft doesn't show up in the sim after you go through all the steps? Specifics will hel...

Re: Downloading and Installing Add Ons

I can talk a bit about FS2004. I'll do the manual install way for aircraft, and maybe someone can jump in and do the scenery install basics, and/or how to unzip directly to the FS9 folder, or the use of auto-installers. My first suggestion would be to have a good look at a typical aircraft folder. F...

Hi there, welcome to SurClaro, There is no 'Flight Tuning' section in the default Bell helicopter .cfg file, I looked. If there is no 'Flight Tuning' section in your bird's .cfg file, there are a few ways you can dampen, or strengthen the rudder sensitivity. In fS2004 the 'Settings' section looks li...

Hey, remember the landing gear I made for this thing originally? I couldn't use it on the great big 'Marauder' because I needed 16 sets of gear for the size of the thing and it wouldn't export. Well, I found a use for them on my new space shuttle. I remember saying how much fun creating la...

Aww crap, the Scenery Hall Of Fame was down and defunct the last time I looked, and that's where I went for all of these types of utilities. 'Flattex' was one program for flattening out terrain and excluding scenery items in your path like trees, etc. There are others that will flatten and exclude a...

Oh, well isn't that special? I've been dealing with blurry textures that only clean up when you zoom the camera way in and then out again for years now and no-one ever told me about unchecking any little boxes in DXTBMP. Son of a *beep*. Yup, I looked and my 'mipmap' one is always checked by default...

Holy 'frame rate challenge' Batman! Gorgeous, just gorgeous. I imagine the fact that for the most part your PC has to draw only water around these boats helps a little....I bet the rate takes a hit as you pull into a busy harbour/dock scenery. Mind you, I'm living in the land of 'Hopelessly outdated...

Hmmmm...okay, I'm out to lunch on this one. This is a direct quote from Fr. ACES kept some parts of the "old" rendering system in t...

I thought I remember reading that this was solved with an edit to the FSX config file. If I see the post again with some solid info I'll post it up. In the meantime, you have a clue to work with, try some searching over at The FreeFlight Design Shop or at FSdeveloper.

When you open up the 'panel' folder, then open up the main panel bitmap with Microsoft 'PAINT', do you have the panel image along with pure black everywhere that you want to see the outside view? If it's the same as FS9, everywhere on that bitmap that is pure black will be completely transparent in-...

You could most likely get rid of it by altering the bitmap for the 2D panel, but you're definitely stuck with the gunsight in the 3D 'Virtual cockpit'. It is part of the interior model and only the author has the ability to go back into the original 3D model source file.

Well, I started placing some effects, like lights here and there and then got to the engine glow. Looks like it's a waste of time to go too nuts attaching the 'aircraft' size light effects to this colossal carrier - you can hardly see the little things when you are doing a flyby. The 'navwhite' effe...
