That's a nice looking rig there Clay, congrats. Are the power cables really that short that you can't turn it 180??? Is the fan a sucker or a pusher, and does the case have an opening for it at the bottom??? I should probably take a look at what case you got. But, it does look HUGE. RD It's a large...

That's one reason why it looks like poo... I can't, I don't have the cable length I need. I had everything in place and left the wiring to the last step, every thing is to short. I had to turn it fan down. Believe me I wasn't happy! Three inches of additional length on the leads would have d...

I suggest you mount your PSU upside down so that the fan faces upwards.

Other than that, it looks great!.

With so many fans in the case, you could run all of them on Low without a hitch.

Be sure to take advantage of the cable management features in the case, it's a really large and easy case to work with.

I use a network drive where my whole family can access files.

I don't use recovery programs, I've never bothered to look for any. There are many good alternatives out there but I haven't bothered to check them.

New pics! Improved cable management I cleaned it up as best I could. I've looped the SATA cable around the HDD to avoid the troubles of tying the cable. http://i144.photobucket.com/albums/r183/mrairplaneman777/New%20System/DSC_8484.jpg http://i144.photobucket.com/albums/r183/mrairplaneman777/New%20S...

Hmm, any reason why you are going with the three sets of 2x2GB RAM?

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6820145224

Two sets of those might be a cheaper alternative for you?

Oh, and any purpose for the SSD? It seems awfully expensive for the capacity.

Sorry about the triple post, I have no way of deleting posts. Anyways, I'm using my dad's account to view your list. Some suggestions: Remove the CPU cooler. You don't need it as the processor already comes with one. Not to mention that the cooler isn't compatible with LGA1366. The stock cooler will...

Go with something from the Corsair line.

Re: New i7 Chips... and a story...

I'm not really sure what you mean but I'll give it a go... The questions are… I7 core, is there any massive improvement between this and the QX9650 as far as pure processor speed, or even the Q non X series processors? The Core i7 performs much better than most other processors. The "X" in the QX ...

The QX series are not really worth the money unless you are into serious overclocking.

The lowest model of i7 comes for around 250 USD I think?

Do you have a particular budget in mind?
