Groundsquirell's right. Grab a conversion table or, if you're good at math, a calculator. Mach 1 = About 760mph = x knots.

Aircraft won't stop banking! What is this?

Almost every aircraft on FS9, especially the ones I like to fly, will immediately start banking either left or right, really messing me up on direction while I'm trying to climb. I've checked all controls, fine. All settings, fine. I've even zoomed in on the ailerons and rudder on spot plane view an...

The cost of lessons in real world.

Hey guys. I'm considering taking flying lessons for real at my local airport just three miles away. Does anyone know about how much it costs total to take the lessons and get a license (estimate please)? I've actually called the place but their answers were a little unclear.

Yeah, propeller torque and the P-Factor will probably cause your plane to turn like that on takeoff. And it does mostly kick in once the tail raises. Using your rudder properly will allow you to counter for this.

Here's you a good tip on performing great landings with the Cessna 172. Try to come down to the runway to were you won't be diving hardly any. When you get to the runway, try to fly as close to it as possible WITHOUT TOUCHING IT. Pull the throttle back slowly and press your elevator trim button to n...

When the joystick is centered, you will not get straight and level flight. You have to trim the plane for that, usually just the pitch is all it needs.

I doubt it could be the joystick. Check all your computer settings and you may want try troubleshooting. It rarely helps me, but it's worth a try.

I have the Saitek ST290 Pro, also. And it makes flying helicopters a little more easy (although I still don't know how).

I have a Saitek S290 Pro. $20 at Wal-Mart. Excellent joystick. You just can't fly right with the keyboard, like I have been doing for the past 6 months before I finally bought one of these things. I really like the twist-handle rudder control.

Almost every plane on my flight sim (2004) has a tendency to bank to either the left or right, acting like the ailerons aren't level. I've been fighting this for quite some time now. Anybody know any cures?

That's kind of what I figured. You're right, groundsquirell, even 40 horsepower was outstanding back then.

Men pushing older planes.

I have this book that explains aviation from the roots. There are several early pictures in it showing at least three men pushing older planes while it's running with a pilot in it. What is this all about? Isn't the plane powerful enough to get its own self moving? Or is that even what it is?
