Anouncing the begining of Sydney Deluxe Scenery

Post by jmcdonald4 » Tue May 26, 2009 3:42 am

I am anouncing the start of development for a new freeware scenery package for Sydney, Australia. It is aimed at fs9 but may be fit to work with fsx aswell. Any comments, programs, objects or textures etc are welcome and can be sent to me via email.

This certain scenery package is only at designing stages and has not started development yet so it should be availiable within a couple of months. I will keep Surclaro forums updated with information and beta releases of the package.

As I said all items are welcome to be posted to me via

[email protected]

Thanks

So... You want our members to feed you information for a project that you are gong to build, sorry... sponge off of, repackage and call your own?
Two words... GO FISH!
You obviously haven't done any research into this.

excuse me, but I have done a lot of research into this project and i am offering members of surclaro to get involved in this project and get mentioned throughout the whole development process, i am not asking for anyones ideas or files, i am looking for people who would like to get involved.

this is the first time i have made a topic on Surclaro and the first reply i get is a complaint because you missunderstood my wordings. From now i will still be continueing the scenery but will not be uploading to the internet.

I hope your happy.

Update:
Just to let you all know i am only 15 years old. Anyways today has been a very productive day with the completion of roads and traffic around YSSY airport. Post by groundsquirrel » Sun May 31, 2009 3:43 am

Uhmmmmm.....there is going to be more than, say, 5-7fps isnt there? Dont forget to offer a less detailed model for the slower machines and you will gain a larger following.

Update:
Today i completed the final AFCAD file for the airport, i lined up all aircraft with their jetways and configured all parking spots to real-life. I've added the Qantas cargo bay and have added random vehicles and baggage carts around the airport.

I Have added a couple of screenshots

Just to let you all know the realease for this scenery is still unknown but it will be no longer than 3 weeks time. Reason for it taking so long is because of all detail!!!

Thanks
Jack McDonald

Now I do feel bad…
I sincerely apologize; I didn’t expect this level of work.

You do have some skills and are working very speedily through it.
Sorry I doubted, and I am blown away with the screens.
Keep up the good work; I’ll be standing in the corner tying to get the keyboard out of my mouth…
No hard feelings I hope.

If it's any consolation, I also had reservations regarding the authenticity of this project, suffice to say, I too am amazed at the speed and content that's been achieved so far

Thank you everyone for their kind replies, and Cat1, no hard feelings taken :)

Update:
Today i completed the DHL hangar and warehouse and added proper gates and ground textures to that area. Also I added shipping containers, baggage carts and all sorts of storage containers around the DHL loading dock. I have added many hangars aswell today. Tommorows job is to complete the heliport and to finish off all ILS issues.

Thank you everybody for their support and I will post some more screenshots ASAP

Please go to this website i made for all the sceneries I plan on building.

Update:

Sydneys starting to take shape but im realising that parts of the airport have a hit on frames rates. Im fixing all this and should be ok for people with slower machines :D . DHL cargo area is almost completed, all I need to do now is add their hangar.

Taxiway signs are all over the place at the moment and i am in the process of rearanging them all into their proper positions. I have had a lot of help from the members of Surclaro regarding AI boats, in which i plan to add to the harbour.

AI floatplanes have been completed with the addition of the Rose Bay Sea Port, in which i was inspired by the Sydney Sea bases creator. Roads have been added with the help from 'AFCAD' and 'FSUIPC' around the harbour bridge and lead all the way around central Sydney (most main roads ans selected minor roads). New lighting has been added to the Harbour bridge and opera house and also new warfs and docks have been modeled.

I have attached some screenshots to give you an idea of what its looking like. (not finished yet so dont worry!). It looks like defualt scenery in some of the screenshots because ive only just started modelling Sydney!!!

Take a look at my website at http://deluxe-sceneries.yolasite.com/

Thanks,
Jack

Looking real nice there.

I'm really curious as to see your outcome for the AI Boats, though.

Keep it up, and keep us posted.

Sorry, theirs been a short delay in uploads due to the speed of my internet. If all goes to plan it will be up and running ready for download within 2 days time max.

njbb1995, i would be more than happy to do some New Zealand seneries for you, if you want email me via [email protected] and tell me what you would like done and i will see what I can do.

Just letting you all know that i wouldnt be able to make any of my sceneries if it wasnt for Instant Object Designer (IOD). If you are a scenery designer you may want to consider buying this product as it is very easy to use, just import a picture, make a polygon and put all your items together and export it as a .bgl.

I will be making many more sceneries in the future and all of them will be evolved around VOZ 1.8. If you would like to download and use these sceneries I create you MUST have VOZ 1.8 installed.

Bathurst Mt Panorama Raceway will be availiable right after Sydney Scenery Deluxe is uploaded. For more information visit my website which was recently updated on www.deluxe-sceneries.yolasite.com

Thanks all, and dont forget if you would like any Sceneries created for anywhere in the world email me on [email protected]

Thanks,
Jack McDonald
