I recommend Saitek Aviator if you men on buying a joystick.It has good performances on Combat Flight Simulator 3, FS9 and FSX. The toggle switches become quite useful when landing(you need to concentrate) and it all becomes easier.Also it is possible to program all the buttons on the joystick.

Boldpilot,what joystick do you currently have?[/quote]

Thanks for your reply Isaga. I have a Saitek ST 2000 which is about 6 years old and I have indicated to my son I would like an Aviator as a Xmas present ,mainly because of the twin throttles. BP

Hi Mel. There are four great periods in the life of a man.
The one where he believes in Santa Clause;
The one where he no longer believes in Santa Clause;
The one where he is Santa Clause;
And finally where he looks more and more like Santa Clause.
Which are You?????

If you want a joystick, i would pick saitek
If you want a yoke, go CH

If you are talking about a Yoke vs. Joystick issue. I faced a similar problem. I wanted a yoke for GA and airline realism, but I wanted a joystick for choppers and fighter jets.

It really all depends on the type of flying you plan on doing. Naturally, Yokes are better for GA and airlines, and you want a joystick for fighters and chopprs.

Personally, I went for the Joystick, because i could imagine flying a Cessna with a joystick, but i couldnt fathom flying a chopper with a yoke!
