Hold down E then hit 1, 2, 3, and 4 that in theory should sort your problem.

If say i select Engine 1 axis to a throttle lever.. then select Engine 2 to the same lever... It deselects from engine 1..

Does that make sence ?

I don't quite understand what you are saying, are you trying to tell me you have 4 throttle levers?

Which means the above link is full of good info. Whether the solution is there exactly as you need or not, there may be a workaround - or food for thought to solving your dilemma.

Give that a try too.

You can use the free version if you so wish, but if you want to use it to it's full potential, then i'm afraid you will have to part with your hard earned cash, remember, the author has sat down for some considerable time to create this, you should not be surprised that he wont give it away.

I'm guessing the unregistered version won't help?

EDIT: Oops, just read all the thread properly #-o - no other workarounds I guess - can't be done in the settings page 'Assignments' for FS, eh?

What if you spoofed the aircraft .CFG file to cut the engines down to two & doubled the power for the two sets of one, & assigned your two throttles that way? Yeah, I know, realism goes out the window... & you're just asking for trouble messing with the .CFG file that way as when you change one thing you most often have to compensate three other things, but hey, it's my brain's best thoughts at this time of the day.
