change virtual cockpit startup view

Post by blubberboy37 » Tue Jan 04, 2005 12:44 am

are there any ways to change the pilots seat in virtual cockpit on start up? i am annoyed about having to press ctrl+shift+enter/bk space in virtual cockpit to switch seats, every time i start up one of my helicopters. i hate it that the people that design the helicopters dont know that the pilot in a helicopter sits on the right side not the left. opposite from airplanes. Does anybody know if there is some kind of thing i can put into the aircraft.cfg file to change this?

anyways thanx fer any answers in advance.[/b]
Gosh i like helicopters!

somebody knows...all my birds have an empty right seat when I climb into it.

I'm not positive but in the .cfg entry under [VIEWS] you might be able to work with the numbers there and see what effect it has on your viewpoint. Make a back-up of the .cfg first.

Here's something I copied from another forum awhile back...

You can easily add the following lines in the
panel.cfg file to modify the "VIEW_FORWARD" (default 2d panel view out the window):

[VIEWS]
VIEW_FORWARD_ZOOM=0.800 //overrides default 1.0 Zoom Factor
VIEW_FORWARD_DIR=4.800, 0.000, 0.000 //Pitch, Bank, Heading
VIEW_FORWARD_EYE=-2.00, 0,000, 0.235 //Lateral, Longitudinal, Vertical

Pitch will "tilt" the eye point up/down to the angle specified.

A Lateral entry of -3.0 will put your "eyes" 3 meters to the left of the
aircraft.cfg COG entry, which is typically the centerline.

A Longitudinal entry of 2.5 will move the eyepoint 2.5 meters forward.

A Vertical entry of 0.235 will move the eyepoint UP .235 meters.

The signs are as follows:

Lateral - is leftward, + is rightward
Longitudinal - is rearward, + is forward
Vertical - is downward, + is upward

If someone wished, they could have the eyepoint out the front window showing
what you would see if you were standing out on the wingtip... :)

this is what iam looking for..what about VC..virtual cockpit?

i found it :D
for VC do these.
Goto aircraft folder find ur desired aircraft.open its "aircraft.cfg".go to

"[Views]
eyepoint=48.0, -1.6, 2.5"

this is my settings on 727-100

"-1.6" s pilot seat position i made it "1.6" and i took the right seat :)

the up or down is "2.5" but itsverysensetive..even 2.6 is so much high for me.i wonder how to make it 2.5,6 lol...

if 2.5 is default on height, and 2.6 is way too high.... try going incrementally 2.52 .. 2.53 .. 2.54.. 2.55... and see if there is any change
