aircraft in program files, not showing on menu

Post by bweyers » Mon Nov 19, 2012 1:38 am

I downloaded and copied an aircraft file into my aircraft folder. Its there along with others (that i did not download!) but wont show when I launch FS. I am sure this is an old problem but have been struggling for hours and could use some help. Thanks... bw :(

Hi, and welcome to SurClaro.

First thing we need to establish, is which Sim is this for, FS9 or FSX, then we can move on from there,

Mel.

Hello bweyers,

Don't You just hate when that happens - #-o - Its usually not as bad as it seems - the first thing I check when it does happen is - open Your Sound file in a text editor - and check if the sound is alaized to an aircraft that is present in Your Aircraft folder - if not - it will have to be changed to neighboring Aircraft - or a different Sound file Dragged in . :D

Be sure to save Your Sound file after You change it !! 8O

There are many things that can cause this problem - But this is by far the major cause - The panal folders and texture folders will usually cause the aircraft to be messed up in the simm - but it will show up in Preview :?

Also - just in case - be SURE to back up Your origional Sound file - " Filename.Bak " - That way You can change a copy of the file - in the text editor - and revert if there is a problem !

Givveratry and Letusknow
